The new changes in the brackets for the CWS took place this year, & as you know the CWS is double elimination. CSF was 2-0 going into that game last night which SC won 5-3. In order to get to the Nat. Championship game SC had to beat CSF twice. The winner of the next game will face UT in a best out of 3 series for all the marbles.

I like the new changes in the bracket system. In the past you might have a team come throught the loosers bracket and meet an undefeated team in the single title game. You might loose the title game & only have one loss in the series and go home with no trophy.

I like this system too. I remember one year Texas was the only team that was undefeated and they faced a team that had lost once. They both faced each other in the National Championship game that Texas lost and were second place in spite of the same record in the tournament as the champions. Now it is double elimination to the championship game with a team that goes undefeated at least the advantage of an extra day off before the championship series and then it is two out of three. Much better.

LSU won it through the loosers bracket over U of Miami I think in 1997.
