WICHITA FALLS – Ennis grad Graham Harrell passed for 246 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as the Texas All-Stars defeated the Oklahoma All-Stars, 40-10, in front of an estimated crowd of 8,200 in the 67th annual Oil Bowl at Memorial Stadium.
Harrell, a Texas Tech signee, found Ennis teammate Jarvis Woodson for a 61-yard touchdown on Texas' first offensive play. Harrell completed eight of his first 11 passes in the first quarter, as Texas scored on its first four possessions to jump out to a 30-0 lead. Harrell's favorite target was future Texas Tech teammate Darcel McBath of Gainesville, who had seven catches for 133 yards.
The Texas defense was just as dominant. Chris Smith of Allen had a safety to go along with six tackles, as Texas held Oklahoma to 44 yards on 26 attempts.
Lake Highlands' Franklin Okam had four tackles and two sacks and was named defensive MVP, while Forney's Baylen Laury had three tackles and two interceptions. Keller's Colt Mahan had five tackles, two for loss.
Southlake Carroll's Garrett Hartley had three kickoffs go out of the end zone and had four punts downed inside the opponent's 15-yard line.
