If for some reason you weren't able to graduate from the high school that you did, which one would you have wanted to go to?

For me it would be any of the following: Lewisville, Plano, Arlington Lamar, or Southlake Carroll.

I had friends at all of those schools and would drive from Gainesville on the weekends (that i had free from basketball, track, and speech practice) just to see them.

I don't know. I think I'd like to go to Westlake. A lot of talent and a consistenly good football program.

I graduated from Freer HS but if I had to graduate from a different one it would be Sinton where I live right now. Of course if I had I would probably be living in Freer right now. lol

Great Question:

5A: Midland Lee or Permian
4A: Brownwood
3A: Sweetwater, Greenwood
2A: Sonora
1A: Iraan
sixman: Panther Creek

There are actually many others...so I just limited my response to west texas teams.

Oh yeah, BullFrog Dad you hit the nail on the head. Kids don't realize what those years mean until they are gone. I loved the scenes in Peggy Sue Got Married where she goes back 25 years to high school. If we only had the wisdom and the youth all at the same time. What a combination that would be. But unfortunately, life is linear as is the accumulation of wisdom (experience with learning). Too bad adolescents don't listen to old f@$ts as they would gain immensely if they did.:)

I agree with you on 2A vet. I would l have chosen Sonora. Of course my 3A choice would have been the No. 1 choice in Sinton.

Phil...had I expanded beyond west texas...good ole Sinton would have been on my list for sure!!! I just thought I would have bored everyone had I listed teams from all of the regions.

I am undecided on 4A and 5A evem though John Tyler would have been a lot of fun during Earl Campbell's senior year.

Lone Oak?

I had a young friend that graduated from Lone Oak about 15 years ago.

I went to his graduation. He graduated 8th in his class.

Of course there were only 16 seniors there.:D

I guess Lone Oak has grown a little. But last time I drove thru...it was still a podunk town.:D

I'm not sure, but I think they were the Eagles.

As for which High School I would choose, can't imagine going anywhere but good ole Ballinger, but if I had to choose, I guess it would be Brownwood.

You are right! Sinton66 confirmed this yesterday as well. Through the years it seems that some of the best, most well-rounded students at Ballinger are from the Rowena area. Both athletically and academically. Interestingly, when I was playing football, many of the Rowena boys didn't play because their parents didn't want them to play football. There were some really good athletes that could have been dang good ball players had they had the chance.
