The Moody fans flowed into Dell Diamond after our game was over. They probably tied us or really probably beat us with how many fans they brought.

Congrats Moody

According to the UIL website the attendances for both games were...Forney vs La Grange 6078 and Corpus Christi Moody vs Lewisville Flower Mound 6431!

There were a lot of people at those games...congrats to the Trojans.

i was informed of this at work, and i just got chills... This is one of the most deserving teams of a state title that i can think of... but i do have to say this...

MOODY IS A 4A SCHOOL PLAYING IN CLASS 5A
Now, for them to win the 5A state title, and lose only ONE GAME this year says alot about the talent and the determination of this team. They are, year in and year out, one of the most noted national teams. Corky Gallegos has done a great job taking over where Steve Castillo (i believe) left off. once again, congratulations to the Moody Trojans and Coach Gallegos.

ps... some of them were drafted too!

There is alot of talent in Region four.:D
.
It's just too bad CC Moody(Calallen, Robstown and Sinton too) has most of it.:p

Did they request to play 5A ball?

yeah, because the 3 other schools are 5a by class, miller and moody request to stay 5a, to alleviate costs for CCISD. They could drop down... but they would throw the other 3 schools into the valley districts. it would be a bia bia for travel costs... however... they would put the other 2 schools into the 2 4a district in South Texas, possibly putting Calallen and Moody into the same district with Robstown... scary scary thought come basebal..

Yes. The CCISD requested to stay in 5A. C.C. Miller also has a 4A enrollment.

I don't know if Moody or Miller requested to play in 5A because a lot of their parents and fans would rather them be in 4A but they are part of the CCISD and the other schools are in the majority so they don't really have much of a voice or vote. At least that is what I have been told.

Of course then on the other hand to be in the same district as Calallen or Gregory-Portland is not too appealing in football especially.

District is it sort of like my old home town Freer. They chose to stay in 3A even when they could have gone to 2A because they knew Refugio was a powerhouse in 2A and that they wouldn't advance more than two games since they would have to play Refugio. Still they did win a state championship in 3A in 1990. But after a couple of one sided games against the Sinton Pirates in the 90s they decided that they would be better off in 2A even if Refugio was there. They did have some success with the switch for a while.
