Not a very credible source WOS. Especially since their summary said that Rory Calhoun was going to Colorado Springs, CO for his health because he was suffering from tb. This is false. He was going for his health but it was not because of tb. Their credibility suffered. Besides Dawn at Socorro put their top movie The Godfather to shame! :)

The AFI, on the other hand, is recognized as one of the most credible film institutions in the world. I'm sure DaS is a good movie. I'll have to check it out.

You have to see it Pud on TCM on June 24 Th at 8:30 A.M. If you can't watch it record it or get someone to do it for you. YOu will be glad.

Briefly it is a western starring rory calhoun, piper laurie, david brian, lee van cleff, alex nicol and edgar buchannan. At the start Rory Calhoun is in a gunfight with Alex Nicol's adopted family in Lordsburg. Rory Cahoun leaves Lordsburg,NM by stage to go to Socorro,NM to catch a train to Colorado Springs,CO for his health to help heal an old gunshot room. Piper Laurie also rides the stage with him and Alex Nicol who is determined to get revenge and kill Calhoun in a gunfight. Nicol does have a sense of honor even though he is the main villian. The night and dawn in Socorro leads up to an exciting suspenseful shootout.

Ranger Mom it a channel on cable and it is Turner Classic Movies. Not all cable companies carry it though but it is a great channel with lots of old and fairly new movies shown regularly commercial free.

Also Ranger Mom any cable company will know who TCM is even if they don't carry it. The movie is good Old. In the 50s and 60s and earlier there were thousands of movies made that were called B movies which meant that they were movies that may not win oscars or wide critical appeal but were entertaining and made money. Many of them would be shown as first runs on a single billed movie but even if they weren't long you could get an evenings entertainment out of it cheaply because they would also show a cartoon, newsreel, previews, ads and what was called a short such as a 15 minute three stoogies episode. Many times on Saturday nights they would show two of these movies as a double feature and these were popular. Of course you make hundreds of these type of movies you are going to get a gem once in a while. Movies such as Dawn at Socorro, the Day they Robbed the Bank of England, The Sadist, Glory Stompers, etc. are some of these gems.
