The 80's, LA and Boston+Offense. Then came the "Bad Boys"+Defense=Repeat. Then Jordan,Houston,Jordan,LA,and San Antone+Offense. Back to Detroit+Defense=Pistons in Six."The times they are a Changin'" "Thanx for that commentary Bob"

They are going alright, going out in 5. They got the Lakers attention now. Pistons played as good as they could play in game 1 and the Lakers, other than Shaq, didnt show up. But my hats off to Detroit for stealing game one, but i think this series is going to be like the Lakers and 76ers series when Philly stole game 1 and then lost the next 4.

well i tend too disagree w/ you, the lakers arent for sure if they are gonan be a team next year. i think they will win the next one then it will be back and forth til game seven. and then its a toss up. but thats just what i think...

Hamilton scored 12. He's averaging 21 in the playoffs. I don't think that he played his best.

Kobe scored 25. He's averaging 25.1 per game in the playoffs. I would venture to guess that he showed up.

Make up whatever excuse you would like. Slice it however you want, but don't say that the Pistons played as good as they could have, because they didn't. They can play even better. Sure, the Lakers didn't play up to expectations, but maybe, just maybe that had something to do with that Detroit defense.

If you noticed, whenever the Lakers lose, there is a reason why. An excuse. You see when the Lakers lose it is the Laker's fault. The "other" teams are never better than the Lakers. Ohh, heaven forbid that thought!

Last night, Detroit may have played better than the Lakers, but anyone that knows anything about basketball will tell you who is the better team out of the 2 and when its all said and done, the better team will prevail. Basketball is not like any other sport really. There rarely is a surprise team that comes out of no where and wins a title. In basketball, the best team usually prevails in a 7 game series.

Detroit just delayed the inevitable. They stand no chance at winning the title.

Yeah, I don't know why the NBA doesn't just go ahead and give them the trophy. I mean, why did they even make all those cheesy comercials?

i think showtime listens to too much sports radio and is having trouble doing some thinking of his own...everything he said sounds strikingly familiar to what all the self appointed media "experts" said today.

detroit was 54-28 in the regular season. how is that "coming out of no where?"

I predict that the Pistons will take it in six. And if they don't it will be because the Lakers got lucky.:D :D :D

if they beat the lakers at the staple center in game 2 then they have a chance of winning

If the Lakers are 0-2 in LA, this series is O-V-E-R! The dynasty would be over. I personally expect LA to win game two.:(
I don't see 'them' winning the series if they were down 0-2...
It took a great defensive team to beat Indy in the East this year period. This Detroit team is awesome and has team chemistry.:)

How many Detroit Piston copy-cats will we see in the 2004-05 season?

i dont think i get what you mean.. explain Teams that will adopt their playing syle. They are quite a change from the NBA status quo of the last several years. Look back in the 80's and 90's when the 'Niners had great success with the West Coast Offense. Half the NFL ran a form of that Offense.

its hard for teams to copy their defense. Teams have been trying to do that but just cant. Now....the off the court stuff and attitudes might be copy-catted

I think this Detroit team is somewhat a copy of the Spurs team. Two "big" men inside with outside shooters. Play great team defense. But there are noticable differences.

Haha, Showtime33, we're preparing your crow for Tuesday night.

Detroit is so much better than the mighty Lakers, it's almost funny. Ok, it's very funny.

yeah...in this series they have proved that they are a much better team all together. That may have not been the case throughout the regular season but now when it counts...detroit has stepped up and has proven that it does still take teamwork to win the NBA Finals.
