From what I understand in the bootleg movie industry is that a kid or someone at a movie theatre plays a movie in the theatre by himself and records it or films it from the projector room. He or she does this on a digital video camera so that they can upload it onto their computer for selling or trading purposes. Really to buy one you can either download it from a share network, or find the right person to buy it from.

hm...interesting...it would be funny if someone screwed up the actual film in the process of recording :D

I am sure that there are even better 'copies' available if a person knows the right people.

Oh I am sure of it also, but the trouble is knowing the right people.

Some theatres receive DVDs of the movies. Those new all digital theatres play DVDs instead of film.

That is the beauty of digital vs analog. There is no such thing as generation loss.

1's are 1's and 0's are 0's no matter how many times you copy them.

they are very big in korea, well most foreign countries have bootlegers, and they arent illegal since they dont hurt that specific countries economy. over here and in iraq the soldiers buy them, but they are poor coppies and dont work sometimes, but it keeps us updated on current movies and are really cheap.

Or you could be like me and have a neighbor who was a GM for a theatre.

a friend of mine had Van Helsing on DVD and while you watch it, someone in the theater stands up and walks down the aisle. Personally I'd rather watch a movie in a theater. You just can't duplicate that.
