View Full Version : Your team this coming season...

How will your team be this season? Orangefield will be very young and will probably be a year away from getting back into the playoff picture. Several sophmores will see the field this year for the Bobcats. Look for anywhere from 6-8 sophmores starting this season with several going both ways. A sophmore QB will be calling the signals behind a new offensive line with only one starter returning. The running back and wide receiver positions will be solid, but the inexperience of the line could make things really interesting on offense.

The defense will be young as well, with the secondary being a strength. The d-line and linebackers will be the queston mark on defense with only one starter returning from the group. The defense will be smaller this year but should be a lot quicker.

The Cats will play with a lot of heart this year like always, but these kids will need to keep their heads up and just get better each week. They could be in for a long season, but the experience they will gain this year will really come to the forefront in the coming years. These sophmores are pretty good, but this years freshmen may be even better. The next few years are looking pretty good in Bobcat country.

Is it too early to talk about the upcoming season or what? How will your team stack up this year? August 2nd is just around the corner!!!

Rockdale is returning 18. 12 seniors and 6 juniors.

I am clueless about Greenwood...we graduated a lot Friday night.

I am hearing good things from the brother of a player though...I guess we will see!!

The class of 2006 for Rockdale will post 20-30 seniors for the 2005 season, some of which will probably not see the field, but that is a large amount of seniors.

monahans has 8 coming back on offense that averaged about 30 or more points a game in district with a year of running the spread offense under them. center will be the main position to be filled. on defense we only have four returning so we will need some people to step up on defense. should be an interesting year

LOL,

There are some teams in 3A that barely have 30 PLAYERS. 30 Seniors sounds like a 5A team.:D

Sinton returns a bunch from our quarter-finalist team last year. Pirates should make a fairly strong showing this coming season.

WO-S will also have about 30 Seniors playing next year. That's probably the most we've had in 15 years. But like the other school, a lot of those kids will not see the field.

We have a 1400 yard passer returning and the offensive line almost in tact. Our tailback played behind Kerry Franks last year but did get a lot of playing time. He and his backup can fly. We lost all but 1 of our receivers but have some young speed filling those gaps. How that will play out only time will tell.

Defensively, we return only two off of our defensive front but will have several returning that were in the rotation last year. Our secondary should be strong with our safety, rover and one corner coming back. Plus, with Cornel Thompson (DC) coming back, I like our chances.

oh well

Which school is the big scool in your District now. I know it goes Pecos, Fort Stocton then I get lost Greenwood is still the smallest what about Monahans, Lamesa & Seminole. How should the district unfold.

I think we are going to struggle a little at first. I think it will take us 2 or 3 games to get into the swing. We are going to be very fast. Probably the fastest LG team in a few years. The seniors are going to get this team in check and be prepared to play.

Kennedale has alot of seniors returning this season. We suffered heavy losses after Harper, Morris, and Barret graduated, but we have plenty of people who are just dying to fill those spots. Brooks is returning, and he will undoubtedly get the job done again this year. Our defense should be really strong now that we have some experience, plus 2 players returning from taking a year off to play other sports. Our biggest upside would probably be our Offensive and Defensive line. Although we don't have any giants any more (i.e. Virnoche), we only have to fill in one spot on the O-Line and none on the D-Line. Look out for a MUCH improved Special Teams unit as well. (THANK GOODNESS FOR SOCCER LOL)

To continue on what LGHernedez#5 was saying about the Leps-

LG returns 26 from the region III semi-finalist last year, including 14 seniors and 12 underclassmen. LG is going to have its fastest team ever in my opinion next year, and I look for them to have another great season.

oh well,
i know the big schools are ft stockton, pecos and lamesa. im not sure about the order of biggest to smallest. the smaller schools are monahans greenwood seminole. i am pretty sure that monahans is the biggest out of those three. my prediction for the district is for monahans and greenwood to be in the playoffs. for third place i am predicting seminole or pecos. i think pecos probably has the better team because they have two great backs but sometimes pecos just doesnt play. i am picking monahans, greenwood and seminole to go to the playoffs. by the way where are you from and what do you think will happen in your district?

It isn't my fault I didn't get to play. You were just the guy who ran in plays. You don't need much speed to do that, either, so you're the perfect man for it. :evillaugh

Old Tiger

you got the wrong reciever, I'm a X your thinking of Bleeker and Trotty ;)

Old Tiger

to tell you the truth i don't know why we even had recievers...all we did was run the ball and those were the same plays every other down

BIG BLUE DEFENSIVE END
06-01-2004, 04:36 PM
Yeah, but we'll be a passing offense next year and a young, talented coaching staff with a lot of capable recievers and a quarterback who is shaping up to be quite a player. Also, a defensive end that can run like a reciever. :D
