It was a ten inning "dogfight" as the Wharton Lady Tigers drew on last year's state trek to the Final Four to find what they needed to outlast a Devine club composed of eight departing (and determined) seniors. The Lady Tigers tough and confident play proved to be the the deciding factor in Friday's win sending them once again to Texas's "Elite Eight" in this year's play-off picture. The defensive struggle was highlighted by Matzke's 19 K's and the game turned the Tiger's way in the 10th when Wharton's bats came alive to the load the bases with no outs and D1 recruit, Jami Lobpries came to the plate and drove in the go ahead score. This year's "Unfinished Business Tour" is headed full steam to Austin and I know by now "the ROAR" is being heard in many parts of the capital city!
