No one has answered the question and I know you know the answer so feel free to answer it since it happens at the first part of the movie and is irrelevant to the main plot that follows: Why didn't Alex Nicol (who played Jimmy Rapp who was based on Johnny Ringo) help his adopted family at the start of the movie in their gunfight with Rory Calhoun?
