...and their fans.

1. Shaq is allowed to goal tend. So don't even bother complaining about it.

2. Shaq is also allowed to push other players into the officials 10 feet away to go after a rebound so that he can dunk the ball.

3. After dunking the ball, Shaq is allowed to give that highly intelligent, cross-eyed look into the camera that seems to say, "I'm on the edge...don't mess with me."

4. Kobe Bryant is allowed to take an infinate number of steps toward the basket without dribbling. This also includes moving your pivot foot.

5. The Lakers home games are more about who's in the stands than who's on the court.

6. Only Jack Nicholson is allowed on the court any time he wishes.

6b. Jack is also allow to get in the face of opposing coaches. All referees are look the other way as if you don't see it happening...even if it happens right by you.

While i agree with everything that you said, this one is pretty much league wide. It seems like you can run with the ball in the NBA as long as you start on your own side of mid-court. I don't think there is such a thing as traveling in the NBA.

You're right about that. It's never called.

most professional athletes dont have to follow the rules (laws) away from basketball so why should they have to follow the rules while playing the game?

Sans is right but the other observations are true and astonishing. But it must be about the money. Face it if the Lakers are in the playoffs and in the finals they draw the most fans and the ratings are much higher which is more money. Money rules the NBA as in everything else except in this case it is up to a big fault.

I know. I'm just venting a little frustration.

I won't be watching the NBA now that the Spurs are out but those that are please keep the observations coming. I know that I have seen a lot of fans escorted out of the basketball arenas for much much less that Jack has. If you or I did that we would have been escorted outside immediately.
Regarding traveling I think they don't call it because when they score like that it is considered entertainment and what the fans like. This was pointed out by Bill Russell that basketball isn't just a sports skill but entertainment. Of course the only time they will call traveling is when Shaq fouls someone like Parker and makes Parker miss then the traveling will be called on Parker of course and no foul. lol

I disagree Mwynn. If there would have been a game 7, I dont think there is any way the Lakers could have won at San Antonio again. Luckily LA came to play last night and took care of business.

Jasper, true the Lakers might get some calls to go there way, but thats how it has always been in the NBA. Look at when Jordan and the Bulls were running wild, everytime down the stretch, Jordan and the Bulls would get the calls. IMHO, I think that you have to earn the respect of the officials to get the calls. What I mean by that is you have to become a proven winner. In the late 90's when Kobe and Shaq were just coming into their own, they never got any calls. They could never get past Stockton, Malone, and the Jazz. In those series, the Jazz got the majority of the calls. In the Lakers vs Spurs series, there were 145 fouls called on the Spurs and 125 fouls called on The Lakers. That a difference of 20 but a lot of those fouls are when the Spurs hacked Shaq.

I would have to say that my biggest problem with the Lakers is Shaq. I've always had a problem with him backing down into another player, knocking him down, and there's no foul called. Since when can you not hold your ground? When somebody does hit the floor, half the time it's called a blocking foul. Just because you're bigger than everybody else doesn't mean that you're a better player than everyone else. But when the officials don't call it, nobody want's to take that kind of punishment....well maybe Rodman, but he's long gone.
