in 4A softball playoffs tonight. I know it isn't 3A but it really was a great game by two outstanding teams. This may be the year the Lady Brahmas finally go to State. They have mostly a senior team and are good players.

Man what a steal for Texas A&M University at Kingsville. That Kingsville catcher Julia Canales is going to be good in college. She is one fantastic catcher and she can hit too. She is most difficult to try to steal too. I remember when they played the eventual state runnerups that Smithson Valley of San Antonio tried to steal on her about 4 times and she got them out at second three times (the one where the steal was successful was because the shortstop dropped a well thrown ball). She has even been successful at getting runners at first who lead off too far. She still is fast and her throws to first keep them from getting too big a lead off. I am surprised that Texas and the Aggies and Baylor let her get by without trying to talk to her.
