The Connally Cadets are a good team; however, I have seen Jasper play and they have the capability to come back and win the last two on Friday and Saturday!

Pinecone, thank you for the update. The Dogs' backs are to the wall big time! :( They have to now win at Waco just to get a chance to win at Jasper. But, they have pulled these games out before. Go Dogs! :)

I sure hope so. Jasper started out with their #1 pitcher allowing 4 straight hits before striking out the next 3 batters. Damage was done with 2 runs. Jasper scored one in the 4th to get close at 2-1.
Then changed pitchers after walking the 1st batter in top of 7th and then walked next 3 batters, walking in a run , and a sac. fly scored another. Jasper added one the the bottom of 7th. So might have gone to extra innings if they hadn't walked so many in the 7th. After those first 4 hits, Waco only got one more hit.

I still don't understand why they won't get a home game unless they go to game 3... :nerd:

But usually isn't it a home/away for the first two games? I thought you were guaranteed a home game in the first two games.

Castleberry scrimmaged them since both had 1st round byes and didnt do that bad. They lost something like 5-2.

It could be that there were multiple coin flips and Jasper lost at least one of them. Bet they flipped for one game or 3 game series.
Might have flipped for home team on the neutral site. Anyway, Jasper is in a ditch and sounds like they dug it themselves. Here's hoping the best team wins the series.

Shawn's a lefty and they do everything weird...including coin tosses. He's a good friend from way back and it's good to see him doing so well at home with the Dogs. From what I've read all season, they definitely have the talent to bring the series back home. If that happens, Jasper has to have the edge...

I was a sleepin. I am getting old; can't stay up so late anymore! ;)

Thanks for the good wishes for the Dogs! :)

Can anyone give us updates during the game? I'm assuming that the game will be on the radio.

10 run rule got 'em so Jasper may get home a little earlier than
if it had gone 7 innings. Parker gets the win on the mound but he only pitched 3 innings and then Regan finished. Ratcliff hit a home run with no one on base. Mostly it was the big 3rd inning where we got 10 runs on 4 hits and a few walks. Yeates, Parker, and Regan all can pitch some tomorrow. Of course we will see their ace Loftin, their football QB. Good Game bulldogs!

Game 3 started at 4:00pm. By 5:00 pm it is end of 4th with score
Jasper 4, WC 2. It is too close and Jasper has got to play hard, error less to win.

Waco loses heartbreaker! Jasper wins in bottom of 8th. Score ends at 7-6 for Jasper. What a game. Lead changes hands several times and tied up at end of 7. Brian Daniel hit a 2 run homer in the 6th and then in the bottom of the 8th, he hit in the winning run. Parker hit a homer in the 4th. Cameron-Yoe is next.

Wow! Jasper overcame the scheduling gods and won by a hair like they did in football! :)

Yoe will be a good opponent. Fred, thanks again for doing the reports. But, why did the game start at 4:00 instead of 5:00 like it was scheduled?

It seems that Waco-C had a prom tonight and the players wanted to go. Somehow they got a chartered plane to carry them to Jasper's Bell Field. They demanded to start the game at 4:00 so they could attend their prom.

Doing great! Back in Texas. My point was that it made it appear that WC was not totally focused on the game itself. Regardless, I love the result. :)

Glad you made it home. I bet you had an adventure you'll never forget. Shawn's done a really good job in his first year back with the Dogs, but is he working with mostly seniors or are these younger kids that are contributing so much?

I have not seen them play yet. Hope to this week. But, it is my understanding based on last year that this is mostly a senior club. They graduated only one senior last year.

Sorry I did not get to see the game, but I did listen to the last part of it. Like some others, I did not know the game time had been changed so tuned in late. Just talking to fans, I don't know if WC "demanded" to change the time or just simply asked and got an OK from Jasper staff. Just a little semantics here. I liked the way it ended!:)
