I just heard on the news that this was the workings of two high school seniors. Is this true? (as in is can that be confirmed?)

local news out of Beaumont reports two teenagers. one from Kirbyville (Jasper County) and one from Jasper. One was set to graduate, not sure about the other.

Yes, it was a stupid, sad thing to do. I truly believe that this action represented the thoughts of a very tiny minority, as did the original act. But, once again, Jasper gets a black eye. Fortunately, once again, it appears the law caught the perpertrators.

One was 18 yrs old from Call, the other 19 yrs old from Jasper. They were charged with several counts of grave desecration besides Byrd's. Also charged with burglary and theft of a truck which may have been taken from Jasper's bus barn. They turned themselves in.

Desecrating anyone's grave would be a terrible thing to do. To do it to a family and town that has suffered so very much is almost as low a thing to do as the original act.

It would seem that they were not real smart several times! But they deserve credit for turning themselves in. Maybe someone was prodding them?? Parents maybe? Regardless, I am glad to see that they were men enough to own up to their actions.

I can think of many other ways to get attention. Plus, I don't think that this is the kind of attention that you want.:(

Yeah I went to school with em' Matthew Fowler the 18 yr old originally from Call was enrolled at Kirbyville High School but he dropped our around November. My cousin was very good friends with him but they haven't talked in over 6 months. The other was Josh Tally and he graduated back in 2000 if i'm not mistaken. Sad things to hear about but maybe they will get what they deserve soem attention. they need to be held responsible for what they did. they both have other charges on them besides what's posted on this board. I will kepp you updated i am going to call his mother tonight.

Some teenagers just get sooo much smarter than their parents,
teachers, and most of the people in the world that they just do not need to go to school once they get that smart.:D
