Please be sure to indicate whether it is softball or baseball and if it is game one out of three. I know Raymondville and Devine are playing in Alice tonight in a one game series in softball.

Baseball:

Columbus 9, Hutto 8 (1st game of series)

What a sloppy yet exciting game for the Cardinals. Was at this game. Columbus made 9 errors, but got it done. Trailed 8-2 after 4, but scored 2 in the bottom of the 5th and 5 in the bottom of the 7th for the unbelievable win. Key moment was when Hutto's starting pitcher took a line drive in the mouth and was taken from the game. I understand he has one chipped tooth and 2 loose teeth as well as a fat lip, but is OK. This was a thriller to the end!

Good luck Saturday, Cards!

Baseball:

Navasota handled Giddings in the first of their 3-game series. Got that info from Bellville22, who was there. Didn't get the score.

Softball:

Devine 4, Raymondville 2

This was a good game...experience prevaled in the end as the senior laden Devine team were too much in the end for the young Raymondville team. The game was scoreless until the 3rd when Devine capitalized on a few Lady Kat mistakes to take a 4-0 lead...Raymondville scored in the 5th to make it 4-2 and thats how it remained. I would of liked a win but I'm still optimistic since we only had 3 seniors on our team and the majority of our players are sophomores including our pitcher...who did an amazing job. Good luck to everyone continuing on in the playoffs.
