Just had to let everyone know that Matt Gonzales (Vernon) toted the mail to the tune of a bronze medal today in the 300 hurdles.

Dang those metals are awesome! Cant wait to scan it.

Way to go Gonzo! I'm proud of you son. You have had one heck of a year.

That's really cool Z, he's done something a VERY small percentage of people are able to accomplish!!!!!!!!

Yes that was it 40.13.

This was his second time to run the 300 hurdles this year. He ran them for the first time in district. He had been hurt with a hamstring problem until then. So he really wasn't in track shape yet. You could tell as he would struggle in the last 50 yards or so. I think if he would have had another two to three weeks to build his stamina he could have won the region. He had previously ran a 39 as a sophmore but missed regionals that time because two other guys just nipped him. It was in the .01 range between them all. No matter, he had a great time staying in a nice hotel with his teammates and he will remember this his entire life. Kinda what Old Dogsaid, very few people win a regional metal and I'm sure that he will treasure it.

Hey thanks for all your support downlow!!!:) :)
