The District 32-3A playoff picture looks pretty clear.

First of all, No. 2 Valley View and No. 4 Hidalgo took care of the first two spots a long time ago. But the district title is still up for grabs, as the two face one another on Friday in a huge rematch.

Hidalgo’s (10-1 in league play) only district loss came on March 27 against Valley View (11-0). This time, Valley View has the home-field advantage.

Tigers ace Guillermo Cienfuegos struck out 11 and gave up six hits that propelled Valley View to the win. Hidalgo took the first game in a tournament earlier in the season. A win by Valley View gives them the title.

With three games left, La Feria (6-5), Port Isabel (5-6), Raymondville (5-6) and Lyford (4-7) are still alive for the third spot.

Memorable comeback

Thanks to Raymondville, the final spot of District 32-3A got very interesting and opened some doors for other teams.

La Feria had a comfortable 5-0 lead Tuesday and was three outs away from victory. The Bearkats didn’t give up and scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh to turn a sure loss to a big win.

Danny Conde’s triple brought home some runs that tied the score at five. Then Conde scored on a passed ball and clinched the win for the Bearkats.
