by exotic do you mean tropical, secluded, or rare?

If you want something really different, an Alaskan cruise would probably be fun...personally, I've always wanted to visit Australia.

Collect ideas and dream to get you through. Tell us a little about what you want--nightlife, quiet, excitement, lights, action, mountains, beaches. I'm sure we'll help give you some ideas. In the meantime, thanks, and God bless.

nightlife, i wouldnt mind if there werent too many beaches or mountains, if any. excitement is a good thing, a pretty populated place would be great. and im looking to leave the country andexperience other(a little more developed)cultures and ways of life. a tropical place i think is at the top of the list.

There are a lot of places in the US if you haven't already been. New Orleans, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, St Louis, Chicago, Denver, just to name a few. In Mexico, besides Cancun on the Gulf, there's Acapulco on the West coast and Mexico City. All are great places, all have terrific night life. Further south there's Rio de Janiero.

If you're looking for nightlife, Argentina is the place to go...most restaraunts don't even open until 9 p.m., and most clubs aren't open before midnight...they have an interesting way of life down there...people stay up nearly all night, sleep all morning, and wake up in the afternoons.

I would also recommend South Beach area in Miami. Lots of night life & culture! In addition to that area to do if you wanted rent a car & visit the Everglades (short drive) or even drive down to The Keys would be really cool. If I weren't married or had or little girl today I would enjoy doing that. Just my .02 cents.

Smell those shrimp their beginning to boil!! Go visit Jimmy down in Margaritaville!! :D

You could head out to West Texas for some fun. (Spend a week in No Trees. That'll make you appreciate anywhere!) Seriously though, you could do the World Championship chili cook-off at Terlingua. I'm gonna make that one day.

Hey bfa02...
I just toured some of Central Texas and it was cool.
LOL It was the first time I felt have been on a "vacation" since a weekend trip to South Padre. This was really nice because it was just me and my wife. :)
Wherever you go, just make sure you have fun and do all you can. We got back tired but feeling rejuvinated at the same time.

Since $$ is not a problem, consider Aruba.

You're a travel agents worst nightmare! You need to be a little more specific about what you'd like to do on vacation. Are you wanting to just relax and enjoy the nightlife or do you want an action packed vacation? There are so many destinations that fit your general need for a vacation. Exotic can mean so many different things to different people. 66's suggestion of Rio is good if you want a combo of both R&R and action packed nights ;). Almost anywhere in the Caribbean is great for R&R and most of the resorts are all-inclusive (meals, beverages included) and have all sorts of activities. Your young so the Hedonism resorts might appeal to you, unless you don't want to go too wild! They get pretty crazy! No offense, but most of the clients I booked on cruises were older. :D You might get bored being on a ship, even the cooler ones, 80% of the time.

If you want to go to Europe I would suggest buying a Eurorail Pass (train) and tour that way. You can find some pretty flexible tickets and they are pretty cheap for what you get. I'm trying to remember but I think the most common one was for 15 days/15 countries. I know it included France, Germany, Switzerland, maybe Austria, the Czech Republic, and The Netherlands for sure, but I can't remember the other countries. You can even add, for an additional price, some of the countries (i.e. Italy, Spain & Portugal). Then there are the Greek islands - AWESOME - always wanted to go there, but could never get free tickets from those pesky airlines!

Just some ideas from a former travel agent. :D When you're ready, I can give you the number to the agency I used to work with. Good luck! :)

My wife and I went to Jamaica last year. We had a very good time. I highly recommend it. We stayed at the Couples Resort in Ocho Rios. This is an all inclusive resort so all meals and drinks are included. Including alcoholic beverages. Since it is a Couples Resort no children are allowed. If you are looking to go somewhere without the children I would recommend this. I hear that the Couples Resort in Negril Jamaica is nice also. The people in Jamaica are really nice and easy going. There motto was "No Problem". We plan to go back in the next couple of years.

Hey Cat22,

I had a buddy who went to Jamaica a couple of years ago and said the resorts are out of this world down there. But, he said the resorts are about the only thing to do because if you leave the resort you better have an escort because of all of the people either trying to sell you something or beg for money from you. He said he & his wife would not be going back only because they were almost confined to the resort because it was such a hassle to leave. Did you encounter any of this?

It was summer so he decided to drive and take the family along. Going through West Texas was pretty lonesome so he would wake everybody up by driving in the left lane for a few miles basically torturing my nervous Mom. John, Wherever and whatever you do on vacation, enjoy because you've earned it. Take care.

We did spend most of our time at the resort, but there is always so much to do that you really don't have to venture off the site. However we did go into the city of Ocho Rios to do some shopping. On one side of the street there were outdoor shops where the people really hassled you to buy from there shop, but you could get some really good deals. If you don't like that sort of thing, then the shops on the other side of the street were hassle free. They do not follow you around and beg for you to buy from them, but you would pay more at those stores. We never had anyone come up to us and beg for money.

Well Disney is always a good choice... I've been to both Disneyland and Disney World... since money isn't a problem - I'd recommend Disney World... we did five parks in five days (don't recommend that unless you're physically fit - we 'trained' for 7 months)... also a great option is Universal Studios - Islands of Adventures... but if you just want to relax Coco Beach is nice... I'm going to Myrtle Beach South Carolina this year in July - I could PM you and let you know how that goes if relaxing is what you're looking for...
