i wouldnt be able to justify travelling a long ways just for a meet and greet so doing it at the same time as the state track meet would be great for me....maybe not for others though....

I think we should do it during the summer. Alot of our members are either in school or college and we would have off all the time then

but there are also a lot of adults on here that have to work during the summer

there isnt going to be a date that will please everyone so someone should just pick and if they can go they go...if they cant they cant...

Well, my original idea was to do it in conjunction with the state baseball tourney in June, but there has been some dissention to that proposal.

In the past, the 3A tourney has been at Disch-Falk in Austin. I went to the tourney last year, and had a great time. Saw some very competative baseball games. Made for a fun three days. The only problem with this idea is the 3A games are during the week, not on the weekend. The 4A and 5A games are on Friday and Saturday.

i think forney played in round rock their first year at the state tourney...the last three years i think they played all their games in Austin at Disch-falk

There is a place on Inks Lake that accomodates RV's, its right by "The Barge" restraunt.

Most state parks have RV facilities. Shouldn't be too much of a problem wherever we choose. I'll probably just "rough it" at the closest La Quinta.:D I also have a nice little tent that would suffice.

Sounds good 66. I would suggest that since it will be very difficult to get all the members to agree on anything, that the Moderators choose a date and location in the central part of the state and then try to get some of the members who live in the area of the chosen location to gather information and help make arrangements. It would be a good idea to email all of our members and ask them to respond to a head count for the gathering. This email to their personal email account would also serve to notify those members who haven't checked in since last year, about the site change and other changes that may have happened since they last visited 3A down low.

I might also say, beware of August. Last year Burnet's first day of school was August 20 and 2 a days started a week or two before that. From what I remember, some schools actually started a week before Burnet did. I try not to get too involved in school shopping, but I understand that a few weekends before school starts can get pretty crazy for those that do. Just a thought.:)

Even if we take a poll there will be someone who won't be able to make it. :( But with this large of a group you can't please everyone. I like July 24th or August 7th, but that's just me. :cool: :D
