The new user progression titles have been put into effect. Check them out and let us know what you think.

This should be the current configuration:

0-100 posts Rookie
101-250 posts Practice squad
251-500 posts Jr. Varsity
501-750 posts Letterman
751-1000 posts Starter
1001-1500 posts All-District
1501-2000 posts All State
2001-3000 posts All American
3001+ posts custom user title

It appears that if you are a donating member, you don't get a different title other than "donating member".

That's true. They didn't want to mess with that. Could change later if we enable custom user titles after 3k or so.

can we change that... i only have 1000 posts...

I don't like it. It's redundant having our status as a "donating member" and a little caption that says the same thing. I wanna play too! :(

I'm sure Matthew is open to suggestions. If it's possible to leave the color Donating Member insignia and change the text above it, I wouldn't see any problem with letting people see the actual status title a poster has. However, there may be a priviledge or two connected to the "donating member" status title. Not sure how that was set up.

my only question with the new titles is why rookie is before practice squad...I would think that someone would be on a practice squad before becoming an actual rookie...but that's just my thoughts.

How about because YOU weren't here to advise me when I made that up?:D

yeah...but unfortunately, you won't be able to...we don't have a "varsity" status anymore...

ooo...I'm glad somebody pointed that out...I figured "letterman" was in reference to a certain late-night comedy figure ;)

Part of the deal with getting more titles than we had before. The general feeling was that it needed to "stretch" out a bit. All that was discussed on the "user titles" thread. Originally, we only had two titles, "Scrub" and "Varsity". If yall prefer, we could change "Letterman" back to "Varsity", but the required # of posts will probably remain.

All that said, nothing's set in concrete. If any of you can come up with something better, I'm sure Matthew would be willing to listen.

I like all the differant levels of varsity... it's assumed that once you leave jv your on varsity but to have more of a break down in that level is something to strive for... good job - keep up the good work...

I'd like for the text part to reflect the user's actual earned title. That's not up to me though, and can only voice an opinion.

I think it would be a good idea to continue to recognize those that have donated by keeping the Donating Member title, but maybe we could add the user's actual earned title below the DM title.

But why keep that title when the caption below it says the same thing? It's redundant. Redundancy is good in aircraft design, but unnecessary on discussion boards! :D

At 196 posts and needin' 751 to make varsity-hmm, maybe I will make it in about 6 years. But by then it will take 10000 posts to make varsity.

With the nice little "Donating Member" icon that admin designed for us, I see no need for the text portion directly under the username to say the same thing. I agree it';s redundant. I'd prefer to keep the nice icon, and let the text show actual status.

Same here too pakrat...but then again, I've been one of those too, to keep a low profile...just set back watch and listen. But when football season rolls back around, (who really cares about a status anyway...let'em amuse themselves) we'll be there ready and waiting!

66, I agree with you, in my previous statement , I was refering to keeping the icon, when I said we should continue to recognize the donating Members. The icon takes care of that. Show the earned rating under the users name.
