Softball Rule Change Question

Has High School football changed a rule regarding designated hitter to designated player or are they both two different positions. Can any one help with the answer and give us the details? Is it in effect for baseball too? Thank you.

The DH is now called the DP and there is a Defense Only player called the flex. It is typically used the same as before but there is more flexibility with the new rule. It's hard to explain but if you search for it on the internet you can find the examples of it's use. I have a copy. I'll try to find it if you need a copy.
