I know I reported on another trend that the local tv news reported that Mathis beat Aransas Pass on Thursday night. However according to he Corpus Christi Caller/Times today the final score was ARANSAS PASS 12 MATHIS 11 in 8 innings. This latter score is what is probably correct. After 3 1/2 innings Mathis was ahead 9 to 0 but in the last 3 1/2 innings Mathis scored two more runs and AP scored 11 (the top heading says the final score was Aransas Pass 12 Mathis 8 but when I add the box scores it was 12 to 11 which is probably correct). I think the tv news just assumed Mathis had won because of their big early lead. Anyway sorry about the mistake. In 30 AAA this puts Sinton in the lead in baseball with one loss and Mathis in second with 2 losses. West Oso and Aransas Pass are also in the running for the playoffs. A key game in this district not only in baseball but in softball will be this Tuesday when Sinton plays Aransas Pass in Aransas Pass at 7:00 P.M. weather permitting of course.
