Talked to a couple of coaches in the Carrollton-FB ISD a couple of days ago and both told me Ranchview very well could win 7-3A they were surprised that Ranchview was even aligned in 3A....the one constant about Ranchview was speed, speed, speed....lots of good skill kids...Ranchview's JV was 9-1 last year losing to a private school varsity I beleive..saw another post on theoldcoach.com saying Ranchview's 9th grade group had never lost a game til last year and that was to a JV squad...dunno if I am gonna pick Ranchview to win a district that Decatur is in...BUT I think they have a real good shot at finishing 2nd....but in 2005 WATCH OUT!

So. Are they going to field a varsity made up of sophomores and Juniors?

Yes they will be....the JV last year played 4A and 5A JV's and some private school varsitys and I think went 9-1

I now understand why everyone is saying watch for 2005.

well...their coaching staff ticked me off at a track meet this year. They had a kid running a 10.8 or 10.7 and ran him on JV. Said they wanted the kid to "win" so thats why they ran him on JV. The coach said to me, "It's a coaching thing". It was kind of like I was asking a stupid question when everyone in the freaking stadium was thinking the same thing. Thats just stupid. He would have gotten second on Varsity

In the 1999 football season LW was in the same district with Aledo, Glen Rose, etc. In that season North Crowley competed in our district since they had just split off from Crowley HS. They played with juniors and under and were competetive although they didn't make the playoffs. We hosted them that year and everyone remarked how strong they were going to be in the future. Trivia Time: Name the 2003 UIL 4A DIV.II State Football Champions.

Well it just goes to show the old saying that hindsight is always more accurate than foresight.

Yea. I am thrilled that we will get to play a 4a or 5a size powerhouse in our little ole 3A district in 2005. I can't wait.

*sigh*

Ranchview's 2003 JV schedule

Ranchview JV 29 Duncanville JV 0
Ranchview JV 61 Garland Sachse JV 0
Ranchview JV 23 Keller Central JV 7
Ranchview JV 20 Euless Trinity JV 9
Ranchview JV 28 Rockwall JV 9
Frisco Centennial JV 28 Ranchview JV 26
Ranchview JV 43 Hurst Bell JV 0
Ranchview JV 34 American Heritage Varsity 16
Ranchview JV 28 T.C.A Varsity 7

So that is 9-1 against 5 5A JV's.....3 new schools (really varsity games) and 2 private school varsity teams....watch out 7-3A

Ranchview has a great boys BB coach --- his name is Dee Boyd. He was Jason's summer league coach for 3-4 years and likes to run, run, and run some more.
