In Baseball:

Mathis defeated Aransas Pass. I saw it on the late news last night but I don't remember the final score.
Sinton 9 West Oso 2
In District 30 AAA Sinton and Mathis are tied for the lead at 5 - 1 each and West Oso is behind at 3-2-1.

Other scores in AAA are Zapata 6 Hebbronville 4, Bishop 12 San Diego 1 after five innings.

In Softball:

Orange Grove 12 Falfurrias 2 after five innings

In District 30 AAA it was Sinton 11 West Oso 1 after 6 innings,
Ingleside 11 Taft 0 after 5 innings, Aransas Pass 10 Mathis 5.

Sinton and Aransas Pass are tied in the district at 6 -1 each with Ingleside right behind at 4 - 2 (Ingleside has a makeup game with West Oso I think.). These teams face each other one more time in the next week and a half so it is showdown time. It looks like the playoff teams will be Sinton, Aransas Pass and Sinton even though it is uncertain in what order. Mathis has a very slim chance but they will have to win all the rest of their games and have to have lots of help with the other teams. Taft would have probably had a very competitive team but their ace pitcher moved away which makes a big differene. Last year they were 5-5 and barely missed the playoff but they were very competive in fact Sinton beat them by a tough 2 to 1 score last year so they missed their ace this year.

Vernon 2-3

Iowa Park loses to Graham and Bowie beat Breckenridge.
I am not for sure about this but I think Graham sits atop with only one district loss. From there it's cloudy. I think Iowa Park is in second and then Breckenridge, Vernon, and Bowie are all in the mix.

Ok then VWG:

It must be:

Graham 4-1
IP 4-1
Bowie 3-2
Breckenridge 2-3
Vernon 2-3
Childress 0-5

So my Lions will have to beat Bowie and Breckenridge, (and Childress) and hope that neither of those teams beat either IP or Graham and the Lions will take the third playoff spot. IP and Graham will battle for the district championship.

If Bowie or Breckenridge beats either Graham or IP then Vernon will also have to do it. Of course many things can happen. But for simple analysis, Vernon just has to win those games against Bowie, Breck and Childress.

Of course the dist. 8-3A is a Ft. Worth metro area district, and 6-3A is the Abilene area district, and the 5-3A is a, well, I guess you would call it a "western" North Texas district.
