3A Region III Baseball and Softball scores:

Baseball: Bridge City 10 Orangefield 0 (5 innings) Broc Haymon Sophomore looked great again tonight....With Sophomore, Kevin Angelle's 44 K's in the last three games and 84 K's in seven wins couple with the phenomenal pitching of Haymon it looks like BC will be making a strong statement for a number of years. Darrell Stevens and Home Run Hays poked a couple over the fence...The boys are 20-3 with two of their loses by one point to top ten 4As.

Softball: Bridge City 10 Hardin 0 (5 innings) Composite scoring in District-- 105 to opponents 6.

PLEASE POST OTHER SCORES AS THEY COME IN

Forney isn't playing tonight, but their composite score against district is 120-4, and they haven't allowed a run in about six games now.

Tonight the Sinton Lady Pirates defeated the West Oso Lady Bears 11 to 1 in 6 innings. Sinton rested it's ace pitcher except for the top of the sixth inning and let one of its' freshmen pitch the game. She started shakey allowing West Oso to get two people on base and they scored one run but after that she settled down and with he pitching and good defense West Oso did not score any more ones and the Lady Pirates scored enough to get the 10 one rule but it wasn't easy because the Lady Bears were ready and played good defense. Except for two errors Sinton had to earn its points.

In baseball the Sinton Pirates defeated West Oso 9 to 7 in a hard fought game. Sinton scored two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to lead 9 to 4 which turned to be significant because in the top of the seventh with two outs West Oso fought back and scored 3 runs to make it 9 to 7 before Sinton finally got the last out.

I don't know West Oso's record but I know Sinton has beat them twice and West Oso has beaten Mathis once. I do know West Oso also has a 2 to 2 tie with Aransas Pass. It was a tie because in the 6th inning the game was called off because of rain and with the district rules if a game is played five full innings then the score at the time the refs stop the game is the final score.

I hope someone tells us the Mathis vs Aransas Pass softball score tonight because this game is very important as far as playoffs are concerned.

BASEBALL: 3A Hamshire-Fannett 8 Anahuac 0

4A Vidor 2 Lumberton O
Nederland 3 Ozen 2
#6 Port Neches-Groves 4 #10 Little Cypress-Mauriceville 3 This game was all it was build up to be; as it took 9 innings for PNG to emerge the winner. PNG now 21-2 and 11-0 while LCM is 20-3 and 8-2....Look for both teams to climb a number of rounds in the playoff against the weaker 4A District opponents..

In the BC/OF game last night, ace Sophomore, Broc Haymon struck out 12 and walked two as the- 7 pitcher BC roster- continues to dominate. BC settled for 10 hits but they were dispursed all down the lineup.

SOFTBALL: 3A Hamshire-Fannett 3(11-5,8-2) Orangefield 2 These two teams are going to make some noise in the playoffs. H-F has a number of bats and OF has a couple of HR hitters that can win big games for them in the playoffs.

5A Port Arthur Memorial 8 Humble 5 -- What an improvement, Memorial is almost all very young players and they are getting better every day!

4A #1 PN-G 4(19-3,10-0) Vidor 1-- Shalayne Blythe is tops on he mound and Lauren Parker was 4-4 with 2 triples. They are just dominating 4A at present.
Nederland 8 Silsbee 3
LC-M 27(25-3, 9-1) Ozen 4--(4 innings)....LC-M plays PNG next Tuesday. They may be the only team in the state with a legitimate shot at upsetting PNG

In the BC Hardin softball game-- Ashley Lapeyrolerie, Hayley Simonton and Kaliegh Wallace each had two hits...Lemoine tripled and Godwin got another HR. It's interesting, Meagan G. gets one at nearly every game. She last missed against Anahuac; however, she knocked one over that was about 4 foot foul on a very long fence originally designed for hardball out at the Anahuac Park.
