Brahmanettes are undefeated (5-0) at the turn. Rained out vs. Columbus @ Bellville today, but will play at 4:00 tomorrow. Bats have been very much alive for the Brahmanettes since the 1-0 victory over Columbus in the first district game. They've gotten good pitching, but really haven't needed it, compiling a composite 46-1 scoring advantage over the first 5 games of district play, that one run being unearned. They'll play on back to back days against Columbus and Navasota at home, and can really be in the driver's seat with victories over both. The Columbus Lady Cardinals always play the Bellville girls tough, though.
Don't look for a letdown for the Brahmanettes the rest of the way. They're hungry for another 10-0 district record and a run at the playoffs. I like the way they are playing, particularly considering the loss of 6 senior starters from last year's team which lost to Bridge City in a barn burner 3rd game in their 3-game series. Only 3 seniors start for this year's squad, and 2 freshman start, as well. The team has matured quickly, however and is probably considerably better than last year's group. Problem is, Bellville is in a really wicked softball region and we'll have to be hitting on all cylinders to make a run at Austin. Anything could happen...

Rock on Brahmanettes!
Go #13!!!!

Bellville defeated Columbus 9-1 tonight. Didn't attend the game, so don't have any details.

The Brahmanettes host Navasota tomorrow night at 6:30, in what should be a pretty good game.

Cardinals Catcher led off the game with an opposite field homer. Brahmanettes batted a round in the bottom of the 1st and scored 4 runs. Columbus got no more and Bellville never looked back. This one could have easily been over in 5, but coach got lots of kids in the game. Pieper homered for the Brahmanettes and Buenger was robbed of a round-tripper by the CF when she reached over the fence to snatch it. Everybody contributed in this one. Both Pieper sisters pitched and Luetge cleaned up the last to innings on the mound. Buenger had 3 more RBI.

Brahmanettes get right back on the field tonight vs. Navasota. Bats are very much alive and the pitching has been solid. Weather for the game today is absolutely perfect.

Keep it rollin' Brahmanettes!

Go #13!!

Bellville 3, Navasota 0

Good defensive night for the Brahmanettes when the bats slumped a bit. Navasota had 2 runners thrown out at the plate and twice had runners on third with no outs but didn't score. Bellville won against a good team when they didn't really have their best stuff. Maybe a little fatigue from last night's game, but a win nonetheless. Stafford next Tuesday. Keep it goin'!
