Brahmanettes are undefeated (5-0) at the turn. Rained out vs. Columbus @ Bellville today, but will play at 4:00 tomorrow. Bats have been very much alive for the Brahmanettes since the 1-0 victory over Columbus in the first district game. They've gotten good pitching, but really haven't needed it, compiling a composite 46-1 scoring advantage over the first 5 games of district play, that one run being unearned. They'll play on back to back days against Columbus and Navasota at home, and can really be in the driver's seat with victories over both. The Columbus Lady Cardinals always play the Bellville girls tough, though.
Don't look for a letdown for the Brahmanettes the rest of the way. They're hungry for another 10-0 district record and a run at the playoffs. I like the way they are playing, particularly considering the loss of 6 senior starters from last year's team which lost to Bridge City in a barn burner 3rd game in their 3-game series. Only 3 seniors start for this year's squad, and 2 freshman start, as well. The team has matured quickly, however and is probably considerably better than last year's group. Problem is, Bellville is in a really wicked softball region and we'll have to be hitting on all cylinders to make a run at Austin. Anything could happen...
Rock on Brahmanettes!
Go #13!!!!
