mine is "panties" that word just makes me cringe. i dont know why either. just always has. im not trying to be funny either...i seriously start to feel sick when i hear the word. it doesnt have anything to do with what the word means, just the way it sounds. am i stupid? or do others feel this way about a certain word?

I've always thought the word "beneath" sounded weird!!

But...my least favorite word is the word (or two words) that uses the Lord's name in vain!!!!

I see red!!!!!

Unfortunately you are right Slpy, and that's a shame. If I used "Jesus" in that context, I know my mother would find out, hunt me down, and slap me across the face!!:p

My least favorite word is "social".

The word itself just reeks with communism.

Social Security, Social Healthcare, Social Education,...yuck. It makes me feel like bugs are crawling down my spine when I just TYPE the word.

yeah, my Mom and Dad were very strict growing up... This is no joke... until I was a junior in High School... I didn't even know that people used "Jesus" like that. And to say GD?.... WHOOOAA NELLLY!

Of course, BullsFan was always there to make sure no good deed would go unpunished! LOL J/K Bullsfan! ;)

I didn't know that people (except the "bad" ones at school) even cussed until I entered the job force.

I was 18 and worked in the Emergency Room of a local hospital...I was SHOCKED at the language that the Drs. and Nurses used!!

behoove is another one I don't like.

LOL, Old Tiger--I use behoove every once in a while, and I have to explain it to my kids every time. I actually really like that word.

Ranger Mom, I'm right there with you on profanity. I can't stand to hear it, and sometimes I actually physically cringe. I don't know that my mom would slap me across the face, but I'm pretty sure she'd wash my mouth out with soap.

And that, my friends, is really not fun.

slpybear, I can't imagine *what* you are referring to. ;)

COMPASSION

I have a hard time dealing compassion sometimes. Especially with law breakers.

I think my least favorite word is "NO", although, I have learned over the years that it is the word that is sometimes best for me.

In the profanity department, it's the F word and sucks. And yes, to the "younger generation" sucks is a cuss word.

Outside of profanity, tweak gets to me.

I'm not quite as conservative as some of you when it comes to profanity. So what really gets me is when someone gets really mad or upset and they say, " OH DARN IT" or " FEWEY." If your going to say something, you might as well give it all you got.

Tolerance is another word that rubs me wrong. It used to mean how close you cut something to make it fit. Now it has a communist ring to it.

Geometric Tolerancing still means that to some of us!

As far as what you allude to... yeah, a lot of people cloak themselves in the word and think it hides wrongs. It doesn't.

hater
If one word strikes fear in young peoples mind it's this word. "Don't be a hater!" Teenagers' eyes glaze in fear at the mention.
Surely a word dreamt up by a politically correct, thought control wizard.

I don't like hater-just a stupid trend i guess, and all dumb jokes- if it were meant to be said, i wouldn't have heard it several times before!
