Whose teams are going to play 7 on 7 this summer? Last year was the first time I really paid attention to it, and man was it fun! Im sure Burnet will be in there again.

Rockdale will be playing and I think they'll do pretty good.

well ... not mine. There for a few years they managed to go to one a year - would always get into a fight at the first one - coaches woudn't take them back - haven't been to any in a couple of years. It's never dull, believe me ...LOL

7on7 is probably the most exciting thing to watch due to the speed and quickness of it.

LH played some local teams last year, but didn't go anywhere... Not sure if they're doing it again or not.

Kudos for Burnet for knocking off a 5A team (Keller) last year. My sons play for LH, and have a cousin that played for Keller, and will go on to play for North Texas. I think he always thought 3A ball didn't have the kind of competition that he was used to. He had to eat crow just a bit after Burnet beat them in 7 on 7.

Hi LHMom, It was an exciting trip to Kyle Feild last year for the 7 on 7 playoffs. Burnet made it all the way to the final game, but just ran out of gas against Permian Odessa. It was a blast though. I hope Liberty Hill takes part this year. Maybe we will see you there!

Hey thats the neat thing about it, all classes that can make it to the playoffs play against each other. We were "just a little 3A team" last year, but we showed the big boys that 3A could compete. It was the first time I had been to the finals and it was great. Hope we are able to go again.

WO-S will definitely be competing. They will also be hosting a qualifying tourney this year. Also, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe a 2A or 3A team won the whole thing a few years back. Celina maybe??

I know Stephenville won it once too.

I'm sure Orangefield is playing again this year. They have done good the past few years, but they are going to have alot of new faces this year.

Gasilla you're right Celina did win it a few years back as a 2A school.

i wish Barbers Hill would enter they play some 7 on 7 in the summer but never try and compete. I have no idea why they don't god knows the practice wouldn't hurt.

Bridge City potential players were discouraged from playing according to some of the youth....Well Orangefield beat their butt with an awesome passing attack. Maybe that changed the minds of the discouragers......

I have heard of other teams being discouraged, or not supported, from playing 7 on 7, I really dont understand this, its great practice and an early chance for the kids to compete and get a look at their upcoming compition. I know it takes some time, effort and expense for those adults that set it up and run it, but there are usually plenty of ready sponsers in your community to help with some or all of the cost.

Most coaches(so I've heard) are against 7 on 7 because of the fear of injury and missing the regular season.

Kirbyville had thear first 7 on 7 team last year. I heard they will be playing again this year. I hope we find a qb during this time.

Yeah, I thought it was Celina. I know that S'Ville also either won it or were runners up in 1997 too because they knocked WO-S out of it in the semi-finals.
