Thanks and keep posting -- my website is starting to get more up to date as the information rolls in.

Also, make ups from April 5:
28-AAA
Palacios 4, Edna 3
Wharton 2, Sweeny 1 (Even though we lost, it was a well played game by both teams. I was very proud of my girls!!)

I don't know when this game was played but the Corpus Christi Caller/TImes today reported that Aransas Pass beat West Oso in softball 20 - 0 after five innings. The game was supposed to be played Friday night so it may have been made up last night. I don't know about baseball but I was informed that the Sinton - Mathis softball game scheduled for tonight has been postponed until tomorrow night.

I was told by someone that Sinton Pirates lost to the Mathis Pirates tonight in Mathis 2 to 1. This is unofficial though and second hand information. Sinton still gets them in Sinton next time.

Bridge City Cardinals 4 Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns 0 in baseball...It had rained hard down here but the BC field has one of those mega-tarps that protects the field and so the game went on.

Girls softball game over in Hardin-Jefferson was rained out tonight. At practice yesterday, Meagan Godwin was hit in the face by a line drive, breaking her nose and blacking her eyes. Although she went to the hospital she was back in school today. We are just glad that the injury was not more severe!

It is more official now. The Mathis Pirates did beat the Sinton Pirates 2 to 1 in a game that went 8 innings. I think Sinton has a make up game tomorrow night in Sinton with Ingleside and then on Thursday night Sinton plays West Oso in Sinton.

I don't know what happened to them against Oso, but they always play us tough! This just really ... :hand:

No breaking of the nose Old. It hit her more between the eyes than the nose. The nose did not even bleed. Small crack and a cut. As of this morning, the eyes were still not black but there is some color coming in.

Am glad to here that Meagan is doing OK...I just reported what was being said by several folks at the baseball game last night. I am glad that she was not hurt any more than what you are reporting. I remember when Holly Tankersley took the hit and had to ware a protective face gear until the bones healed in her face. I would watch her pitch and thought "What a trooper, to want to play ball even under those conditions." Again, glad Meagan is OK!....Oh, the reports are that Holly is knocking home runs right-and-left in college, there is even talk of her making the Olympic Team in the future.

I think she's hit 10 out so far. Wouldn't doubt the Olympic Team talk. Great kid and great player. If you can believe this, she's not even pitching over there. Great program over there. Real classy staff and one helluva hitting team. The team has hit 53 homers last I checked.

Megan Godwin isn't the only one with a broken nose!! On Friday night right before the game, I also was hit in the nose with a ball. Went to the hospital, got it straight and was there for the game on Monday since Friday's was canceled. It's not bad since I'm constantly wearing a mask.

Tonight the Sinton Lady Pirates and Mathis Lady Pirates are going to play the softball game postponed from last night. The game is in Mathis. I will be going there and will post the score when I get in tonight. Also the Sinton Pirates vs Ingleside Mustang game will be finished up in Sinton tonight. They will start with the fourth inning with the score tied 2 to 2. If I get back in time I will check out that score and post it too. Hopefully someone will already have it posted by the time I get here.

In softball tonight the Sinton Lady Pirates lost their first district game to the Mathis Lady Pirates 9 to 6. Sinton got behind and fought back but too many errors did them in and some good hitting by Mathis secured their win.
In baseball in makeup game with Ingleside the Sinton Pirates defeated the Ingleside Mustangs 9 to 0.

Both Sinton teams play West Oso tomorrow (Thursday) night in Sinton.

In baseball last night according to the local paper Falfurrias 5 Hebbronville 4

In softball the scores were:

Ingleside 12 West Oso 2 after 4 innings

Aransas Pass15 Taft 2 after 4 innings

Falfurrias 16 San Diego 4 in 4 innings

In softball District 30 AAA Sinton and Aransas Pass each have one loss in district play and Ingleside has two losses in district play and Mathis has 3 losses in district play. A key matchup tonight is Mathis vs Aransas Pass. A loss tonight will greatly hurt Mathis' playoff chances.
