Saw his mug on one of the Corpus stations and then they show what looks like Tuloso unis. Anybody from around The Colony heard anything?

I heard he applied for the Beeville job but they chose Coach Sosa. Also I heard he had applied for that semi-pro football team too. But these are rumors.

They didn't have the volume turned up where I was at but it looked like T-M unis to me.

Seems Like the coaches are wanting out of the Metroplex.

Why would a coach want to leave the Metroplex?

Old Green

Guess he got tired of endless suburbs and the politics of multi school ISD like our Coach Reeve.:D

I know he a lot of starters back this last season and they didn't make the play-offs I don't believe. His first year there they made the play-offs. Wonder if that has somethin to do with this.

Never can tell. When you are just a head coach in a Multi school ISD, then you have to many higher ups to satisfy.

the reason he was on TV was because they were profiling coaches that went through banquete i believe. He was a coach at TM i believe, then banquete, then he went to sinton, now he is at the colony. this is what i can recall from someone tellin me.

The report on Channel 6 was that he was a finalist for the T-M job. They also stated that a decision was likely tomorrow.

He was at El Campo before Banquete. He and Bellville's Hugh Chancellor were on the staff there at the same time.

Because he was coaching at The Colony!

Well if he gets that job you bet T-M will be on Sinton's non-district schedule next reallignment.

Most coaches likely don't wanna leave the Metroplex unless they are at a place like The Colony....small 5A. multi-school ISD with other traditional powers in the district...ie Lewisville, FM Marcus....The Colony has been known more as a hoops school....

The Metroplex like Greater Houston is always gonna be a hot bed...tons of talent...but that also means there is always tough teams week in and week out...and if you are even a notch down from the rest of the pack you'll prolly be in for a 2-8 season real quick...

If T-M doesn't hire him someone else will. I am surprised no one has grabbed him if he wants to leave the Colony. If T-M doesn't grab him G-P will probably grab him when Coach Harris retires and if so look for Sinton to drop G-P from the non-district schedule which well they should due to injury factor.

Sinton coaches don't always do too good when they leave Sinton. For example Coach Davenport left us to go to Carrol High School in Corpus Christi to be at a 5A school and he didn't do too good. It may have been doomed from the start because many parents wanted a popular assistant coach so their was division there. After about two years he went back to 3A Aransas Pass and had some success once going several games in the playoffs but when Sinton and Mathis started winning again the success wasn't as great there. Now he is at Port Lavaca and I hope he has success there because of what he did for us at Sinton. Now Coach Davis seems to be wanting to leave the Colony after two years. I hope he finds a good job and has success as long as he doesn't play Sinton of course. I didn't make this up. You see the history and the records. Maybe the grass isn't greener on the other side of the fence. Present Sinton coaches take note and consider staying at Sinton. :)

Seen on The Old Coach where if he is not offered the T-M job, Mathis is going to offer the HC/AD job to him. Man, that would throw a kink into 30-3A.

It was annouced on tv that T-M decided to hire Rodney Williams (or Wilson) who is an assistant coach at Corpus Christi Carrol H.S. instead of Brent Davis. A major surprise.

Old Green

I thought for sure Brent Davis would get that job.

.
Actually that's great for Sinton. With more quality coaches in the area it helps keep the standards high. I like that idea. Unfortunately, we'll never here the end of it from M.PIRATEFAN, lol.
If Mathis doesn't get another good coach they could go back to the dark ages...
Competition is good!

Coach Davis is happy at the Colony. But his wife wants to move back to South Texas.

So, he didn't get the job at T-M, didn't get the job in Mathis...is he gonna stay in The Colony? Anyone heard anything new?
