The Bellville Brahmanettes put the distractions of prom aside for a moment and made somewhat of a statement today, establishing themselves as THE team to beat in District 23.

Sealy and Bellville both entered this games with 4-0 records in district. A good crowd showed this afternoon for the showdown.

2 errors allowed Bellville to draw first blood. Buenger led of the second with a shot into right-center, one which the CF was unable to play, landing Buenger on 2nd. The Brahmanettes attempted to bunt her to third, and a low throw to first allowed Buenger to score. Bellville broke the game open in the bottom of the 3rd. Compton led off with a double in an inning that would see the Brahmanettes bat around. Bellville plated 5 runs to take a 6-0 lead, and there would be little doubt about the outcome of the game from there on out.

Megan Pieper did an outstanding job in the circle, allowing 2 hits. Don't believe a runner ever reached 2nd. Pieper left after the 5th, and Luetge came in to finish the game.

Tremendous team effort by the Brahmanettes. Have a great, safe time at prom, and come back Monday ready to go, we've got 5 more district games to win, then the real fun starts.
