There was a little of a "David and Goliath" feel to the Wharton Lady Tigers', 12-6 (17-7,w/pool) pre-district season as they began their "Unfinished Business" trek back to Austin as 2003 State Semi-Finalist. The Lady Tigers are now 3-0 in District play after producing 27 runs and allowing only 3 in the same number of contests. Five out of six of the Lady Tigers' losses came at the hands of mostly area and state ranked 4a & 5a ball clubs. On the "flip side" the Lady Tigers have claimed victories over 7 clubs in that same "field" and also defeated perennial powerhouse private, Victoria St. Joseph in their pre-district victories.
Who knows - they may have already started to again hear the "roar of the tiger" at McCombs Field!

I see where Bellville beat Wharton, I was wondering what other Region III teams that you have lost to this season?

Belleville was one of two 3a teams that we played in pre-district. the other being a win over Sealy (9-0). The other losses were to 4a & 5a teams including San Antonio Holmes, El Campo and Lamar Cons., and the Lady Tigers also had WINS over El Campo and Lamar Cons. The Lady Tigers "boot camp" pre-district play was successful in bringing the team into stride with last year's State Tourney Team readying them for District Play, they have scored 38 runs and allowed 3 in their 4-0 start.

Not really, I would just rank you a little below Bellville if the Statewide poll was increased to 20 teams. Are Bellville and Sealy the only teams from Region III that you played or did you play any 2A, 4A,(other 3A), and 5A from Region III. What were the results?
