A lot of people thought he deserved more critical acclaim for his great performance in The Big Country with Gregory Peck. Plus many people though he should have got an oscar nomination for the great movie Geronimo.

Oh and another thing is that many people thought he would have been just as perfect for the Clint Eastwood movie as the Pale Rider like Eastwood was.
