Track Meet info.....

Does anybody have a jr. high track meet during the week of 3/29/04 that isn't a district meet. If so please let me know on this post.

forney is....its their annual Lion Club Relays....its always a good meet........its that Saturday

Hey Compelite where is your son from that you said threw 145 in disc

He's not my son. He's an athlete that I coach. He is from newton, and two weeks ago we had a jr. high meet at the kirbyville relays. he threw a 147'3 in the disc. His name is Jim Ed Hughes. This past week while we were in Louisiana westlake he threw what looked like a for sure 150 - 155. but he barely scratched. But the kirbyville throw is a legit distance.

He is a great kid, he is a member of the BC track club. If I am not mistaken he went all the way to the junior olympics in Miami. I believe he has what it takes to be a great thrower in shot and discus.

yeah...if he is throwing 150 in jr high...he is definitely someone we will hear more about. Best of luck to him.

Hey COMPelite17, my son is in Jr. High and seems to be doing very well in the discus throw. He has competed in 2 meets and has won 1st in both. His farthest so far has been 112ft. We have been told by several coaches that they hope to have him throwing in the 125-130ft. range by the end of the season. I guess this is good for jr. high. What do you think.?
