I'll be there unless my Bobcats have a game that day and as of right now I don't think they do. Those are some strong matchups. Should give the Kickoff Classic in SA some competition.

I wish there were another network that would pick it up. I'd bet it would get more viewers than the HEB.

Alamodome to host five games from August 26-28
Pairings Announced For Texas Football Classic

The Texas Football Classic has announced its matchups for five games at San Antonio’s Alamodome from August 26-28. As usual, some intriguing contests will be taking place to help kickoff the 2004 high school football season.
Pflugerville will face Kerrville Tivy in Game 1
Kerrville Tivy’s Antlers will have the privilege of starting things off at 7:30 on Thursday, August 26 when they lock horns with Pflugerville’s Panthers.
A Central Texas duel takes place on Friday at 7:30 with perennial power Austin Westlake battling Leander.

Then Saturday’s big triple-header starts at 11:30 a.m. with Southlake Carroll’s Dragons and Midland Lee’s Rebels facing off in a battle of Class 5A powers. Following that contest the Houston-area is represented when Pearland and Sugar Land Kempner take the turf. Finally, Stephenville and New Braunfels will wrap up the weekend in a feature of 4A programs.

Westlake is making its third appearance in the Classic while Lee appears for the second time. An interesting note is that in the first five years of the Classic at least one team that has appeared has gone on to play for a state title. Last year’s event drew almost 40,000 fans. It was the first year the format has included five games.

Lower-level sideline ticket will be made available for purchase from each participating high school in mid-April. General admission and club level tickets will be available for purchase at www.alamobowl.com and the Alamodome box office on Tuesday, July 6.
