Just my $.02 worth......now, ya ya, i may be speculating here, but i think that the nickname was given to the boys back when roger "the dodger" staughbach was the qb for them. the nickname i guess held its own for so long on the account of the number of world championships that they have won over the years. the cowboys havent always been a bunch of thugs, and been coached by real losers. i know that when i was a kid, the cowboys i really watched were a classy bunch of players, and represented the team well. this lasted until about 1997, two years after the teams last super bowl win, when all those players earned the nicknames of the "dallas cokeboys." this was also after barry switzer left the team as the head coach, i believe. now, on to the losers coaching comment, you cant tell me that tom landry was a real loser, that man was one of the greatest coaches of all-time. jimmy johnson was another great coach for the boys, and switzer wasnt too bad either. now, after those guys, the coaches that were in dallas just didnt know how to win with the talent they were given. i think that parcells may be able to use the talent he has, and whip it into shape and get them back on the road to success, and it definitley wont be this year, although i think they will do better than last year. and about jerry jones being the biggest loser for an owner, i couldnt agree more with you on that one, i think that if someone else took over the cowboys ownership that the team's morale would go up quite a bit. i think that the 3adownlow should take up a collection and see if we couldnt buy the boys from jerry. matthew, what do you think about that? think we could get a fund started? wink :D

Yep, that's how I feel, too. They used to be great a long time ago....they sure don't deserve they title now!

Yes, my fav team is the Texans!! Last year was a real struggle, but they are looking good now!!I hope they continue to play well...

The Cowboys are the third largest sports franchise in the world! The only sports franchises in their league are the New York Yankees and elite British soccer team. People in Turkmenistan probably even know who the Cowboys are.

Turkmenistan is a neighboring country of Afghanistan. I would have said Afghanistan, but since we now run the country, they'd be expected to know who our sports teams are.
