in the Academic Decathlon competition. Beside excelling in sports we have smart students too. Sinton has been in the top three teams in State Academic Decathlon competition consistently in the past ten years and has won state outright three times. Also the band and choir have won numerous awards.

I really have a lot of respect for the whole Sinton programs....I like to see a school that is excelling in academics, minor and major sports- like your program. I wonder why some schools can have broad scope programming and some schools have only one strong program. Many school have absolutely no programs that excel.

For those of you who don't know this, my only daughter was a member of the first two State Championship Academic Decathelon teams in 1995 and 1996 at Sinton High School. Although she won no individual medals the first year, she won seven medals the second year, five of those were Gold. She is now a Teacher at Sinton Jr. High. She makes her old Dad very proud! wink And congratulations to this year's team. Third best in the State isn't bad at all!

As a past member of the Academic Decathlon team, i must say that i am proud. I was on a team that won regionals, and took 2nd in state. My senior year we took 3rd at regionals and 3rd at state. I graduated with 9 medals from state competition, and overall, i graduated with over 40 medals and/or ribbons from competition in 2 years.

Oh really? I hyperlinked directly to the district website, and copied and pasted the caption. Guess whoever is doing the website got it wrong. Thanks for the update, maybe email them and let them know too. wink
