Lend me some advice on bats.
TPX, Easton, Rawlings Liquid Metal, etc...
Which one would you use and shell out the $150+ for your kid?

Easton Z-Core Connexion. I'm a big fan of Easton. It's quite a bit more than $150 but well worth it IMO. Another good bat by Easton is the Triple 8. How old is your son?

Not a big fan of the Connexion Easton bats.
We had one the last two years and it didn't have the pop as one of his TPX bats.
Looking at the new "Liquid Metal" from Rawlings.
I know the Triple 8 from Easton is a new alloy, but I need a bat that is durable. The old Easton Connexion we had dented after 10-15 games.

I prefer a good ole wooden Louisville Slugger. If it is good enough for the Majore Leagues, it is good enough for my son.

P.S. My son does not play baseball. :D

We had a contract when I played in college with TPX to supply our bats. We had both Easton & TPX bats. I liked the TPX better than Easton because of the "pop" they had in them. Easton bats seemed to have a longer life expectancy (cracking/warping) than the TPX bats though. I personally like the TPX's over Easton. Just my opinion and 2 cents!! (For what it's worth)

Now I have not had a chance to try it in baseball bats yet, but they Head Racquets started putting it in their tennis racquets at the end of summer in '03 (ie Andre Agassi's racquets) and I have fallen in love with the stuff...as have many others that I know. If it works as well in baseball bats as in tennis racquets then you will get a VERY pure sweet spot...much better than any bat Easton and/or TPX has ever had...
