Seems odd, but it is just a poll.

just a guess, but i'm assuming data poll determines the rankings by records and strength of schedule. so when a team plays a soft team, and demolish them, it still brings down their toughness of schedule rank.

Burnet went down this week also. They went from 119.1 to 117.1

Where do you look at the Data poll now?

It's a data poll...

If you beat a team that's considered week by statistical and other type standards, it won't help you... But a team close on your tail in a data-poll ranking who beats a team considered strong by statistical and other type standards might be helped, AKA: jump over your team...

Example... We just beat Yoakum Friday night... they're ranked one spot above us in that data-poll... One reason why? They haven't played Goliad yet, which is who we played last week... Meaning last week was our first cup-cake team (they're getting better each year, they're getting there) to play, and Yoakum hasn't played a cup-caker team yet, but will this week (Goliad), meaning if both Yoakum and Cuero win, Cuero might jump them in the standings...

They also go by points scored and points allowed off of strengths of teams etc...

Just a wierd thing...

But that's what a data-poll is meant to do, meaning it's not stupid, it's a 100% accurate to its standards...

Just because the we have a few weak teams in our district doesnt mean that Gainesville is any a crappy team.. they beat the spread that the datapoll predicted too.. doesnt make much sense

I noticed this discrepancy this morning. I talked to Brian and he said something was wrong. Gainesville went down 10 spots with a 58 point victory and Celina went up 12 spots with a 11 point victory over the same team Gainesville had beat by 42 points the week before. No way his math formula based poll can work with this discrepancy. I bet it will be more correct in the morning.

They're ranking the teams by a system brached off and using power-ratings... That's their main purpose... Meaning they're accurate,,,

I had noticed a problem yesterday and emailed Brian. He got it fixed pretty quickly. Made my team look worse, but at least it's more accurate.

I find it interesting that district 25 3A teams all represent a respectable power rating. Last year the success of the 2nd and 3rd place finishers from this district substantiates that district 25 3A is a district composed af all decent teams. I look for good things from all three playoff teams again this year. 25 3A ROCKS
