Bridge City Alumni to gather February 7th at HS fields

On February 7th at 11:00am the Alumni of BC will gather to visit and eat Booster Club BBQ. It was started by a group coined the "Ancient Athletes" three year ago. It has since been extended to all Alumni with emphasis on the first ten-year graduates. The occasion is a day of workshops and sporting activities for boys and girls of every age. They are given instruction and are being taught by highly qualified instructors. The HS varsity boys and girls also volunteer their time to work with the younger ones and make lasting friends. There are usually a few renoun athletes there to help. Alumni ballgames also take place. The softball Alumni game starts at 5:00 pm, I am not sure about the time for the men.. It's an opportunity to sit in the stands, eat and visit. The BBQ proceeds go for local scholarships. If you know of any Bridge City Alumni across Texas and Louisiana please forward this info to them....I would suggest that other towns consider using this spring format to kick diamond sports off; it brings a certain continuity to the whole group of participants. It seems to grow a bit each year.
