Can a football team win state title 96% running game and 4% passing a game ,I find it hard but some coaches seem to play that way week in week out ,even though they have receivers tat can catch and run. These are great coaches I just don't understand why you would'n include your receivers more in the offense ,I think it only helps a team...

That's been the story with Corpus Christi Calallen, always runnin', not a whole lotta passing and they'd get knocked out in the semi's by a region 3 team that could contain their game...

But Midland Lee ran mostly and won it...

Cuero won it in 87 on mostly rushing...

Finally, we have a 50/50 type game going on...

If I remember correctly Lewisville won the State Championship game something like 56-0 over Judson(?) and did not attempt a pass. I don't remember the year, but someone will. I think it was late 90's. But I know it helps a lot if the defense thinks you at least might throw it.

You wouldn't recognize Calallen now either. They are using a passing attack now too as well as their wing-t.

In '99, Texas City won the 4a title without throwing a pass, Garland also won it in '99 with the wing-t, and Mesquite won it in '01 with the wishbone.

I hear you on Calallen's results, yea if you got an All=State back ok. but then still I would think you'd wanna keep the opposing secondary back on it's heels .Don't u think some good receivers also get overlooked by some colleges for this same reason, for lack of stats.Look at s.lakecarrols off. from a yr. ago pass, pass run, run, pass.run ,run, pass, pass, pass, etc.get the point, watch the run and the pass. who knows?
