Well, BB - I think you are ABSOLUTELTY right! Then - our seniors are expected to take the SAT and ACT to g to college and guess what - scores are low - haven't leanred some of that stuff - but perhaps because we were busy teaching the TAAS (now the TAKS) test maybe? I think so - Testing is not an accurate measurement of what children are or should be learning. Adn, did you know - 50% of the students in Texas who go to college fail one or more parts of the TASP? Lotta good that TAAS stuff did, huh?

I don't know how many of you actually took the TAAS test, but trust me if a teacher had to teach you the test to pass, you would also be known as (mentally ill).

My Junior homeroom took it today - I thought it was supposed to be harder than the TAAS - some school districts were really afraid their students would do very poorly - kids said it wasn't hard. We'll see when the scores come back.
