War-town, you were down on the same coach during football season, and now you are on him again. You have something against the baseball coach? Do you think he treated you or your son unfairly? I know the coach you are shooting at and I'm just wondering what is going on. That coach has had a pretty successful record over the years, and just wondering what is going on?

What has he done in 28 years nothing but grown roots.Softball coach has done better in 4 or 5 years then he has. No kids in high school yet but I hope he's gone by the time they do get there also I was never cut from the team.

War-town, I have kept up with Wharton baseball for over 30 years, I would like to know who plays in the summer that is not playing now. The Babe Ruth league is going because of participation by all 5 schools that send kids to play. You need to find something else to do than downgrade coaches. I think they played a few rounds in the play-offs last year? The talent pool isn't exactly over-flowing in Wharton Texas.

The kids that play ball in Wharton all play in the league....The reason the turnover looks so large is because some of the league players attend East Bernard and Boling and some even El Campo.....and surrounding schools. Excellent summer league program and very good high school baseball coach. Baseball playoff team year end and year out......

He made the playoffs last year and won a playoff game with a young team that in my opinion was not very talented. Must have been the coaching. Thats enough right their to keep him.

War-town, let's discuss your job performance over the past 28 years in the public's eye. I'm not saying anything about how good or bad a coach he is. I just get tired of coaches getting bashed about winning and losing. Especially when comments are made concerning the players not playing because of a coach. High school coaches have to dance with the one they brung, they don't get to recruit.

War town, you said you never got cut....Did you ever play? Quit? Or what....You apparently have no idea what success is? the Wharton coach has been very successful and a well respected individual in the Coaching profession.

RiverRatDad

You asked what the coach has done in his career here, so I looked it up. 460 wins, 240 losses. Coach of the year in district 10 times. District champs, area champs and regional quarter-finalists in 2003. Has had over 50 former players play college ball, 4 have played in the pros. Has had only 3 losing seasons, never has had a losing district record, and never finished lower than third place. Has coached the 4A-5A Texas High School All-stars South team, an honor elected by his peers. Has served two years as a THSBCA Director. I could go on, but I think I've made my point. I also know he is a loyal supporter of all sports at Wharton. I'm not sure what he did to make you mad, but his coaching record speaks for itself.

My suggestion to you War-town is to go get you a degree (you don't get those at wac-jac; you have to go to a four year institution). Then try to get certified in a teaching field (I would guess that field might by Ag, but maybe debate). Then GET YOU A JOB in district 25-3A, and come coach against him, so that you can show your Superiority to this coach at Wharton. Otherwise SHUTUP!

war-town, we forgive thee because thee does not know what thou are talking about. HA HA. Wharton baseball coach is an excellent coach. His record speaks for itself. On top of that he treats his players with respect. If certain ballplayers you are talking about do not want to come out for the team well they need to look in the mirror. He is a fair man. If the kid works hard and has a good attitude , he can play high school baseball in Wharton. No excuses.

At least I think I know the 2 guys he is talking about(I think). Neither is by anymeans a stud and either being on the team would have hurt them last year not helped. The pitcher is out of shape, a drunk, and I do not recall him getting a win in summer ball. The other, my guess is well I have no clue, because the one guy I can think of was always behind the guy that did catch for the hs team. He did not catch a game in summer ball, nor did he ever throw anyone out. This would also be the guy that told everyone he "does not care about winning". Neither of these guys could have physically lasted a practice, much less shown the coach enough respect to touch the field. Sounds like the type of guys that could have brought home a state championship.

War-town your comments have no merit and they are juvenile. Get real. Your posts read like a kid that doesn't understand Sesame Street. Can you please put together a sentence correctly. You have a beef with the baseball coach that doesnt make sense. Coach Ciruti's team this year is the defending District and Area team champions. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS WAR-TOWN? Defending Champions. Lets cut through the chase. You are a Coward and a Punk. What are you too scared to take your concerns to the coach yourself? You haven't tried to reach him because you are afraid to express your concerns face to face? Grow up and be a man. The coach is. you don't see him arguing on this site with you. Thats even good, because the guys that play get to see better competition at the jv level anyway. By the way Rice beat EB last year and in Whartons two combined games against Rice the score was somewhere in the neighborhood of 45 to 3.

I say Wharton is the favorite to win district 28-3A again this yr. War-town you need to come out and watch the competitive spirit of the team and cheer these young men on. A team that plays hard every game is a sign of an excellent coach. So come out and see for yourself.

Bellville lost to 5A Cy Springs today in the Wharton tournament 16-10. Bellville had their chances, leaving the bases loaded a couple of times and making a few errors. A bright spot came when Bellville's Jess Buenger hit a 3-run homer.

They play again tomorrow at 9 a.m., but I'm not sure after that.

All games in Wharton tourney got played. Thursday was cancelled but teams played all day Friday and Saturday. Good weather and a great atmosphere. Coach Cirtui gets an A-plus on this one. I was skeptical about Friday, but everything went off without a hitch. Calhoun beat Cuero 11-10 for fifth place game. Wharton beat Bellville 9-2 for 3rd place game. Jersey Village and Cy-Springs play for 1st place game at 9pm for 1st place tonight. All teams played hard and clean. Baseball you gotta luv it.
