They have a pretty low enrollment for 3A, but can go beat the defending 4A State Champ (who is above the enrollment of 3A DIVISION I teams) the way they did? NO WAY, that could never happen...

Wait, does this one not count since Ennis is a 4A DIVISION II teams?

I think it counts. It kinda proves Old Card's big enrollment theory wrong.

My theory is if Bridge City was A Div II team Old Card would have facts to back up that Div II is stronger than Div I :D . :p :p :p Old Card is great though for his entertainment value alone.

I think that every school gets a group of kids in, like a special group every decade (10years) and it really doesn't matter about your enrollment. The talent levels goes like a rollacoaster up and down some towns take longer that ten years, but when you get this group of kids you have to take advantage of the moment, because you'll never know when you will get this special group of kids again. I think that the 2000 2A State champs Mart Panthers, could have beaten some Div I 5A Div I 4A, and everyone else that year. So I say that ole Cliche' It's not the size of the Bulldog in the fight, but it is the size of the Fight in the Bulldogs(Marlin not Burnet LOL;

Celina, Mart, Refugio, Lone Oak, Blanco and Sonora were all absolute powerhouses. I know Refugio was probably the second-best team in the Coastal Bend that year, and them and Calallen would've had a huge Cat-fight. Heck, the Bobcats' line averaged over 6'2", 270. I don't know if we'll ever see another year like that one at the 2A level. That was the year both of the Crosbys played together at Mart and that might've also been Celina's best team ever. What do you think, PPHSfan? Oh and cunbed, did you mean the 99 Mart squad? I know they blazed their way to a D-I title that year, but the comp wasn't quite as stiff.

Any given year, Dividon 1 might be stronger that Division2 or vice versa
No one knows from year to year

Old still may be right. The discussion may be the exception rather than the rule.
