Not taking anything away from the rest of Everman's team, but the Everman seniors in my book have to be among the best classes to ever come through 3A. Congrats to them seniors and the rest of the team, for a job WELL DONE!

3 rings for them young men, that is awesome. I'll bet they go on to bigger and better success down the road in life. Congratulations!

Congratulations, Everman. State Titles in both Football and hoops is a pretty big accomplishment. Has it ever been done before?Anyone else out there know? Maybe Denton Ryan a few years back... that's the only one I could think of that had a shot of doing it.

Congrats to the Dawgs - good job - great season - I guess Fort Worth just had to show 3A and 4A how basketball is supposed to be played!

Its too bad Everman is the only "cowtown" area team that knows how to play football. Ironic that the city that is supposed to epitomize Texas (Ft. Worth) has an administration, and athletic director that don't give a damn about the king of games in Texas, football. They only care about basketball.

FWISD may not be able to play football very well..BUT the Ft Worth area is pretty good in football...the surronding cities are pretty good..I do wish FWISD would take a more active role in supporting football..

Tarpon - they don't care about basketball, either - trust me - it just takes less overhead as far as equipment, # of coaches, etc. And, Fort Worth is fortunate enough to have some very good athletes and also some very good, committed and dedicated basketball coaches who have been there for the long haul. It just seems to be a little easier to excel in than football without all the extras - which none of the FW athletic teams get. We have some very good athletes who play football and run track, too. And, our track programs have done very well on higher levels - I think we are able to keep good basketball and track coaches a little longer than football coaches.

Congratulations on Everman's state championship in basketball. They did it in convincing style. It also is encouraging that even though Aransas Pass lost to them in the semis it is obvious Everman was heads over every one else and that Aransas Pass could have held their own against Hemstead and Tatum.

I don't know if this counts to your question Big Daddy but last year Shiner in Class 1A won both the boys' high school baseball championship and the girls' softball championship.

Maybe Denton Ryan a few years back... that's the only one I could think of that had a shot of doing it.SLC did it back in '92/93, and Duncanvile almost pulled the hat trick back in 98/98. They won it in football, basketball, and were runners up in baseball. Of course, La Grange won it in football and baseball back in 2000/01, and beat the same team for both.

Congrats to Everman on state, likewise to the greenwood rangers. Looks to be a rematch for next year as Greenwood who for part of the fourth quarter held them to five point lead to lose in by ten or so. Should be a nicec rematch as Greenwood is only losing one player. Again Congrats to the Bulldogs.
