Here is my list..there have been so many good ones...here is my list

1. 1994 Tyler John Tyler vs Plano East 5A Region 2 Final: in my opinion the best game ever played in Texas High School History...Plano East trails 41-17 with 3 minutes left and proceeds to go on the greatest comeback I have ever witnessed on any level..scoring a TD to make it 41-24, then recovering an onside kick to make it 41-31...then recovering another onside kick...and scoring another TD to make it 41-37..and then recovering ANOTHER onside kick and scoring ANOTHER TD to make it 44-41 with less than 20 seconds left..East was celebrating..but Roderick Dunn (I'll never forget that name!) returned the kickoff 90 yards to win an unforgettable game 48-44...

2. 2002 Converse Judson vs Midland 5A State Championship Game: Another unforgettable game..Midland jumps out to a quick 13-0 lead...Judson then runs off 24 straight points to take a 24-13 lead at the half..Midland then scores 2 2nd half TD's to make it 25-24..later in the 4th Judson gets a FG to make it 27-25 with 1:10 left..then it gets fun..Midland runs the 2 minute drill and rolls down the field and 5 plays and 66 yards later Midland took a 32-27 lead..but there was still 15 seconds left and Andre Williams burned the MHS secondary and caught a 76 yard TD pass in stride with less than 5 seconds left for a thrilling 33-32 win..the crowd of 25,000 at the Alamodome was half in shock, half in joyous celebration..

3. 1992 Southlake Carroll vs Vernon Class 3A Region 1 Semi-Final: A matchup of 2 12-0 teams who were 1-2 in the state...in front of an overflow crowd of an estimated 16,000 at Pennington Field..12 year old Matthew sat on top of the wall in the east end zone and watched this absolute offensive show..Dane Johnson and that RB from Vernon (I can't remember his name) ran wild in this classic..with less than 2 minutes to go and Vernon inside the SLC 20 the RB from Vernon fumbled and SLC blew everyone else away on their way to the title...

4. 2001 Everman vs Forney Class 3A Area Round: 2 11-0 squads ranked 1-2 in the state in front of an overflow crowd at Pennington Field (sound familar) the crowd was estimated at 14,000...Everman took advantage of a Forney mistake on special teams and took a 14-3 lead into the locker room..Forney came out smoking and cut the score to 14-9..star TB DaBryan Blanton fumbled and Everman took advantage to make it 21-9..Forney stormed back to make it 21-17....a late drive by Forney that took close to 10 minutes and 3 4th down conversions saw Forney on the Everman 25 yard line with 1:01 left...a 4th and 1 situation and FB Bryson Brown was stopped for a loss of 2 to give Everman the win...

5. 1999 Stephenville vs Ennis 4A State Semi-Final: the old power vs the up and comer..Stephenville with 3 titles vs Ennis who for the past 20 years had struggled mightily in football..But Ennis went back and forth with the Jackets all game long and with the score 31-31 late the Jackets went on a long drive and with less than 30 seconds left S'vile got the FG to win 34-31...Stephenville won their 4th state title and Ennis would have to wait until 2000 to win the first of what would be back to back titles..

1. Stephenville VS. Andrews 1998 Mustang Bowl in Sweetwater. Andrews had a great RB, Shaud Williams. This was a bi district game. Sville ended up winning 41-35, I believe. Breezed t hrough the rest of the playoffs. In my opinion and many others, Andrews was the second best team in the state that year, and was out after round one.

2. Weatherford VS. Hereford 1999 Mustang Bowl. Hereford was led by Coach Yenzer and the Slade brothers. Weatherford was in its last year as a 4A and had Mark Pierce. Awesome game, the boys from the panhandle won by three I believe.

3. Midland VS. Converse. Matt said it all. Totally unbelievable game. Still cant believe Yenzer didnt have the boys cover deep.

4. Sweetwater VS. Greenwood 2002 Lowrey Field in Lubbock. Sweetwater was down by 14 almost all the game. Score is 34-28 with about 1 and a half minutes left. All Greenwood had to do was run out the clock, but Dawson Wilbur coughed up the ball and Swater recovered. Swater then made a frantic drive towards the endzone with no time outs. Made it to about the 15 when we fumbled away the game. I will never forget all the fans that left when Greenwood got the ball. After all the roars there were people lined up down the fence line watching the end of the game.

5. Six man state championship 2002. Calvert VS. Sanderson. Calvert battles back from a 32 point deficit at halftime to take the win. Very entertaining game.

I could list of tons of great games. Just the first few that came to my head.

I will only list what i remember most:

Calallen-LaMarque: I believe it was the 1994 game. The running back for LaMarque had over 200 yards on 4 rushes from scrimmage, all for touchdown.

1. West Orange-Stark over Corpus Christi Calallen, 27-21
2000 4A Division II State Semifinal... One of the biggest heartbreakers ever. After posting a winless record in their previous umpteen trips to Houston’s largest high school football venue, Calallen was within a few seconds of their first victory ever in the Astrodome. The Wildcats had kept the game close and finally took the lead on a Jesse Pavelka breakaway with 40 seconds to play, putting the ‘Cats up 21-20. But he curse of the Astrodome is alive and well in Calallen. West Orange-Stark got a good return and ran the same play three straight times to march some 60 yards down the field and take a barnburner.

2. Converse Judson over Midland, 33-32
2002 5A Division I State Final... OK, so I wasn’t actually at the game but dang, how can you leave this one out? I videotaped it... it has to be the single most replayed game in the history of high school football. It's also the most replayed game in this household and I still never get tired of watching it. See above for game recaps.

3. Mart over Refugio, 21-20
2000 2A Division II State Semifinal... Refugio had been ranked third in the state the entire season and had, for the most part, bowled through the playoffs. At the top of those rankings sat Mart, the defending state champions and owners of a 30-game win streak. The two mirror-image teams went at each other solid for 60 minutes and Refugio took a 20-14 lead into the final few seconds of the game when Mart’s Quan Crosby saved the streak for one more game. Crosby led his team down the field and dove into the endzone from a couple of yards out to send the Panthers to their second straight title game.

4. LaMarque over C.C. Calallen, 24-21 (OT)
1996 4A Division II State Semifinal... Calallen’s fourth straight go-round with LaMarque in the Semifinals and their fourth straight loss. It’s been so long I don’t remember exactly, but I want to say that Calallen had a seven-point lead with hardly any time left when the Cougars punched it in to send the game to overtime. The collective hearts of the Calallen faithful finally broke once and for all when the LaMarque placekicker sent the winning shot through the uprights.

5. Aransas Pass over Bishop, 53-47
1999 3A Division II Area Playoff... The 100-point game. Enough said.

Honorable mention goes out to the 2000 2A D2 State Championship between Mart and Celina (both had 30+ game win streaks), the 2001 matchup between Everman and Forney at Pennington Field, the 2002 Area game between Aransas Pass and Port Isabel, the 1998 Quarterfinal between Aransas Pass and Sweeny, the 1995 Area playoff game between Ingleside and Port Isabel and the 1995 Semifinal game between Sealy and Cuero.

About 4 years ago, I watched an Ennis team demolish a West Orange-Stark during the first half. After the half, WO-S came storming back but could not quite catch up, and a great Ennis "Spread" team won the State Championship!

Did anyone see the Southlake Carroll game in 2002 when they played Lufkin at Waco for the right to go to State? Awesome game, back and forth for all 4 quarters. If I remember right SLC intercepted a pass towards the end and kicked a game-winning fieldgoal. This was SLC's biggest test all year I think. Those guys played an awesome game.
