I never quite understood the "you may have beat us, but we were the better team", argument. If you are the better team then you win the game, if you lose they were the better team that night.

What ifs, refs, and sportswriters opinions doesnt win you ballgames. Being the better team on a particular night wins you ball games. Gainesville got whipped 28-20 and the score would not have been that close if Gville did not have one of the best kickers in the state.

I'm from Spring Hill, I'd say Old Cardinal's final 10 looks like a good one. Might flip-flop Spring Hill & New Boston due to the SH victory in the playoffs. Gladewater, Tatum & Gilmer could also slide in with Rusk as a tie for #10.

You are probably right, fatcat 255,(7) Spring Hill and (8) New Boston in that order. I had a tough time in placing either Rusk or Tatum in that #10 spot....I sure like how New Boston came out of nowhere, to have a good season.

Good gawd, Keith, stop whinning! Have you noticed that YOU are the only one who has G'ville picked in the top 5? Think there may be a reason for that? Could it be that G'ville wasnt that impressive? Naaah, couldnt be, right? Not the mighty Gainesville Leopards!
Guess what? Celina beat you! Dont gimmie that "the refs threw the game" BS. What are you, a 7th grader? That is the single oldest and most pathetic loser's excuse there is. I promise you, the refs couldnt care less who wins the game. It was decided by the 22 players on the field. G'ville by far had the most talent but Celina proved that they had the most heart. Get over it!
I hate to be the one to break it to ya, but Gainesville is far from a 3a power. Make it further than two rounds deep, then come talk to me.

Carthage deserves to be in the top 5, losing to Forney in the final seconds on a miracle pass in the 2nd round. In the first round beating Gladewater 21-7.

I've seen more then half of them, I've seen Gainesville (of course), Forney (we scrimmaged them), Dangerfield (went to the game they had with Celina, and watched film of them and Atlanta before our game with Atlanta), Atlanta (played them), Celina (played them), and New Boston (saw film of them and Atlanta before our game with Atlanta as well)
