The UIL only updates them after the Major sports (Football/Volleyball, Boys/Girls Basketball, Baseball/Softball) seasons.. so the next update wont be until after baseball season.. in like June...

I thought that it would be interesting to come up with a weighted score on the Lone Star Cup standings to take into account the enrollments of the leading schools. Here they are based on points per 100 students:

1. Kountz 12.99 points per hundred students
2. Ballinger 7.91 points
3. Aransas Pass 7.48 points
4. Wimberely 6.3 points
5. Greenwood 6.19 points
6. Decatur 4.76 points
7. Canyon 4.12 points
8. Monahans 4.04 points
9. Everman 3.35 points
10. Jasper 2.97 points

Hats off to Kountz for a tremendous year so far in both boys and girls athletics. To achieve such a high success rate with such low numbers is something to be admired. :)

This will include soccer, golf, track & field, one-act play and the state academic meet. The final numbers will be posted, June 13 to include baseball & softball.

Would someone from Kountze or that knows the program relate the makeup of their points (example:district champs in ? or runner up in ?).

I know they were district champs in both boys and girls hoops..boys lost in Rd 3 girls in the state finals...I think their volleyball team made the playoffs also..I am sure they are strong in academics and one act play and band etc

I believe their breakdown would go like this:

Volleyball 14
Girls BB 16
Boys BB 8
Marching Band 8
total 46

I don't know how well they will do this year but in the past 2 years Kountze has been rather weak in UIL Academic and One Act Play competition. But to rack up 46 points at this point of the year is quite amazing. Congrats to them.
