Are you saying your coach timed 40 yard dashes on the first day of 2 a days. To be more accurate I prefer to know what a 40 time is in hundreths of a second. Most kids and alot of coaches will report a clocking of 4.59 as a 4.5 . The difference in 4.50 and 4.59 is slightly over .8 of 1 yard. Here's a little mathematical chart showing the distance separating runners with different speeds in the 40 yard dash. This charts shows how far behind various runners of different speeds are when a kid that runs a 4.40 crosses the finish line.
4.40 - winner
4.50 - 9/10 of 1 yard behind the winner.
4.60 - 1 3/4 yards behind the winner.
4.70 - 2 1/2 yards behind the winner.
4.80 - 3 1/3 yards behind the winner.

Here's another chart where the winner runs a 4.50 in the 40 yard dash and kids that would finish their 40 times listed, and how far they finish behind the winner.
4.50 - winner
4.60 - .87 of 1 yard behind the winner.
4.70 - 1.7 yards behind the winner.
4.80 - 2.5 yards behind the winner.
4.90 - 3.27 yards behind the winner.
5.00 - 4.0 yards behind the winner.

A 40 time is just as good as the man running the stopwatch. As someone who has observed many college recruiting/summer camps, even alot of college coaches can't do it accurately.

Greenwoodbro,

I sent you a PM several weeks ago that has remained "unread".

I have to agree with EVERYONE above.

Why don't we as Greenwood fans, (or in your case, player/ex-player/GISD Employee?) let Dawson's alcolades come from the games. Those stats will speak for themselves.

The main thing I worry about coming from the success we had last year is EGO. You got one, bubba!! As far as THIS board goes, I put Greenwood on the map.

I have tried to be humble, show some humility, and above all, treat the other teams with the respect I would hope they would treat us with. Please don't come in here with your "braggart" attitude and ruin all my hard work!!

Thanks!!

RangerMom...you have sewed too much good will on this board to be ruined by little bro. He is just an over-exuberant fan. Believe me...the posters on this board are taking his posts with a grain of salt. One thing about it...it is neat that there is such excitement in Rangerland!

You are right about the excitement, Vet. Just got back from a booster club meeting and got verification that the 3ADL link will be in our program. Hopefully, any new fans that join up will be able to contain their "exhuberance" in true Ranger fashion!!
